Giulio ist ein toller Gastgeber. Immer erreichbar. Kurze Antwortzeiten.
Our host greeted us at the apartment and gave us a good introduction to the apartment and the area. His recommendations for restaurants was excellent. He was quick to respond via e-mail when I had a question and went a step further to do some research on our next destination which was helpful.
The apartment is within walking distance of all points of interest and numerous restaurants, although they are not in the immediate vicinity. The apartment is a good size and could easily accommodate a family of four. Overall the unit could use a facelift, but we were only here for a week so it was fine.
Wifi is very good and there is a laundromat less than two blocks away.
My husband and I stayed for 5 nights in this fantastic apartment. It is quite well located, only about a ten minute walk to Piazza Maggiore, and the downtown area. Also about a twenty minute walk from Bologna Centrale Station, of which he was surprised to hear we walked with our luggage!
It is incredibly spacious, plenty of room for two people, or a small family. We LOVED the small balcony overlooking the neighbourhood to sit and unwind in the evening.
The bed was very comfortable and we got some great sleep on it.
Water pressure and temperature was perfect in the bathroom, and I especially liked the mirror at the vanity - it was perfect for doing makeup and hair :)
Giulio was a great host, recommending several restaurants, of which we tried two (La Bella Napoli and La Traviatta, both of which were very good) and letting us know of the pedestrian weekends that take place downtown.
Our only complaints were that the walls were a little thin and we could hear the neighbours and their small daughter in the room immediately next to the bedroom quite early, but who comes to Italy to sleep in? If you want to sleep in with no noise, get some earplugs. There was also a church very nearby that rang it's bells every half hour. Again, a little annoying, but it eventually just fades in to the background.
Final complaint is that while it has a full kitchen as far as appliances go, there were no plates or cooking utensils, aside from cutlery and cups. We wanted to reheat some leftovers and had to use the container they came in to reheat and eat out of. Again, not a big deal, especially for a short term rental, since you will likely be eating out more often than not but for a longer term rental it is something to consider.
Overall, we truly loved our stay here, and will definitely be recommending to family and friends if they visit Bologna. We also will consider staying here again on our next trip!

About the Host, Giulio
