Beautiful area

This home is in a scenic location.
Welcome to the Dagaz Dome! Dagaz, old Norse for "the light within, daylight, and new beginnings", created the intention behind this space's design and feel. This dome is part of a series of four domes all consciously placed to provide a private, one-of-a-kind experience on the North Shore. This dome is a part of a large dream of ours... to cultivate beautiful, yet sustainable experiences for guests to enjoy. This space sits on an ever-evolving piece of land where long-held dreams are realized.

The space

This unit features a one-of-a-kind geodesic dome created with beauty and sustainability in mind. Guests can expect a private, completely unique stay with an environmentally friendly focus. All linens are organic, sustainably sourced, and washed in eco-friendly/non-scented detergent to ensure the comfort of all guests.

*The space is cart-in access meaning all guests must park in the designated parking lot, load their belongings into the provided carts, and walk roughly 150 ft to the dome. This was strategically designed to ensure the desired serene feeling of the land is preserved.*

*Also important to note* due to our insurance carrier’s requirements, we are only able to host children age 5+. Unfortunately, at this time we are unable to allow children younger than 5 but are in the process of developing all-age family and pet-friendly units in the near future. Please inquire with questions and thank you for your understanding!*

About the land: Dagaz Dome sits on a 25-acre lot and is part of an ever-evolving hobby farm. We are in the early phases of cultivating a biodynamic food forest through sustainable reforestation practices and have many projects actively in the works. You may hear power tools at work from time to time, but we follow strict working hours and will not be making noise after 5 pm or early in the morning to ensure peace and quiet when possible. We are pretty excited about the cultivation of this wonderful land and welcome any questions, interest, and ideas for improvement from guests who also may have an interest in biodynamic farming, sustainable living practices, etc.!

We do currently have chickens on site. They provide quite a bit of entertainment and are an important part of our permaculture design. Included in the flock is our rooster, Rob, who also plays an important role in protecting and providing balance among the hens. Please note Rob loves to start his morning routine early, usually around 4:30 am, and enjoys letting the surrounding individuals know he is awake. We have grown to actually appreciate this wake-up call as it reminds us how wonderful it can be to go to bed with the sun and rise again, as Rob does, with the light providing a great start to the day. Please note, you may find yourself also alerted to the morning light by our resident alarm clock while staying on-site and may be surprised to find how wonderful an early, easy morning feels in the dome.

About the dome: Dagaz is crafted of a climate-specific reinforced steel frame and two fabric liners to create a unique structure customized for this exact environment. Keep in mind, however, it is a beautiful, albeit, glorified tent. A screen door and large ventilation flaps with screens are provided to promote adequate ventilation, though like a standard tent in the woods, does not come with AC. In-floor heat, passive solar gain, and gas fireplaces keep the space comfortable in the dead of winter. Plan to bring warm indoor layers, as the domes stay comfortable in frigid temps, but may not hold a steady 70+ degrees like you may be used to overnight. On average, the domes hold at roughly 70-80 degrees above the outside temp. Please understand that when it is windy/storming outside it can be loud and this is expected.

Guest access
Parking for up to two cars per dome is provided and free. The site is walkable to the Superior Hiking Trail, North Shore Winery, and various biking trails. Bikes/cars recommended for most destinations.

Other things to note
We love pets (obviously), but due to the nature of the site are unable to host outside pets at this time.

Also, due to our insurance carrier’s requirements, we are only able to host children age 5+ with a signed waiver by a parent/guardian for children aged 5-17. Unfortunately, at this time we are unable to allow children younger than 5, but are in the process of developing all-age family and pet-friendly units in the near future. Please inquire with questions and thank you for your understanding!
