Mrs. Paola was a great host. She took time and care in showing us the apartment and telling us about area using maps, and clearly describing modes of transportation we'd need to take when we departed. The apartment was wonderful and the photos are accurate. Although there's no view to speak of, the location could not have been better!
FYI -The apartment is a 3rd story walk up (no lift). The stairs were no problem to us because we were fit enough to manage them.
On arrival we were met perfectly on time by our host Simon, who was friendly and showed us into the apartment: St Marco Venetian Suite. It's very easy to get to once you arrive in Venice, jump on a boat (Vaporetto 1 or 2) to St Marks, and then it's less than a five minute walk from the boat stop to the flat. Easy!
It's a great 3rd floor apartment, very cosy, and in a perfect location, so close to St Marks square and was nice and clean.
As mentioned in a previous review the lights above the cooking area didn't work, but there were other lighting sources available. There were also lights in the bathroom that didn't work too, again there were other lights in there though.
The wi-fi did not work at all, this didn't bother me too much as I didn't need it on holiday, but it is something that needs to be checked for the next guest as it is an advertised service of the apartment.
In the bathroom, the shower head, whilst just about working, is breaking (it has a split in the side of the head) and the actual wall bracket for the shower is tied together with an audio (Hi-Fi) cable...this definitely needs fixing!
Now for some positives:
This is a very well supplied flat, it has everything you would need as if you were living there: an iron, ironing board, hair-dryer, washing machine, fully equipped kitchen, air con, towels and sheets provided, tv etc. etc.
The flat is also really quiet and cosy, which is so nice after the busyness and bustle of the area so close to it.
A great little flat if you like to lie-in in the morning before starting your day in St Marks square!
Federico met us at the bus ( Vaporetto) stop as planned. Well, we ended up at the wrong stop but Federico had texted us and when we explained where we were he came right over and led us to the apartment. After showing us around Federico sat down and gave us a map giving us tips on where to go and what to do and the best ways to get around. He was extremely helpful. The apartment was just as it is in the photo, mostly. While the whole place was reasonably clean it could have been a bit better. The location was very convenient and easy to navigate. The only negative for us was the mosquitos, not really the fault of the host, just Venice I suppose.
We would stay here again.
We were very pleased with our stay. The apartment is located very near to San Marco square. The apartment description and photos are accurate; the wi-fi worked very well. They provided towels and clean sheets. The kitchen is well equipped and the entire apartment was clean. You need to pass in a narrow alley to get to the apartment, but it is well lit so it is not a problem. The apartment is at the third floor, the stairs are narrow but nothing unusual for Italian standards. We don't mind staying there again!
The space was great!! So close to everything, super easy to get to, and the person who took me to the space was kind and helpful. The space had everything I needed. I was quite happy to call it my home for a couple weeks!
This is a great apartment to stay in, especially as it is just off St. Marks Square.
Faville Tours were helpful and always responded quickly to any questions I had for them.
