Where you’ll be

Glöte, Jämtlands län, Sweden

Our cabin is located only 15 km from Lofsdalen, a small mountain town which offers multiple summer activities such as downhill cycling, cross-country cycling, hiking, fishing, canoeing and wildlife spotting.

Sonfjället National Park, Sweden's oldest national park, is only a 45 minute drive away. A beautiful area highly recommended for hiking and wildlife spotting.

In wintertime Lofsdalen is a paradise for downhill skiing, cross-country skiing, snowmobile safaris, dog sledding and ice fishing. In Lofsdalen there are also EV chargers to charge your electric car (EasyPark app required).

No worries if you're not in the mood to take the car; there's plenty of nature and wildlife to experience just by walking or cross-country skiing out of our backyard!

I'm a Dutchman who loves the mountains and the different seasons. That is why my wife Kiki and I decided to move to Sweden in 2017. My passion for the outdoors and outdoor activities has only grown since living in the rugged Norrland. That passion was also the reason I started my own company; Vaartoe Turguide and have been working as a nature guide since.

In the summer and autumn you will most likely find me hiking in the mountains, cross-country cycling or tracking and trying to spot brown bears. In the winter time I enjoy downhill skiing but have even discovered many other winter activities such as tour skiing, snowshoe hiking and snowmobile touring.

I live in Glöte, a small farmers town just outside of Lofsdalen, together with my wife and my dogs. Besides Lofsdalen, Sonfjället National Park is my favourite hangout.
