We had awesome 7 days at Alison's and Roger's beautiful place. The snug is very comfy and directly located on the lakeshore. We enjoyed th outside cooking at the bbq place. Alison and Roger were perfect hosts who provided great breakfast, gave us helpful tips to explore the surroundings and lent us thier canoe.
All in all we highly recommend staying at their place, you can be sure to have a great time there!
Just finished two nights at the snug for a romantic anniversary weekend, and it was just right. It is a cute little building right beside the water so you can enjoy the sounds of the lapping lake while you sleep. The bathroom is not connected to the snug but is just a short walk up the stairs to the main house. It is right beside the back door and we never saw anyone so it is still private. The bathroom was huge, bigger than the snug! All the creature comforts are there for you including fluffy bathrobes and towels. We spent our time lazing by the lake, taking a ride in the pedalboat and relaxing on their outdoor furniture in the gazebo. We were treated to gourmet breakfasts every morning with good company and had an overall wonderful time. The home is a little further from town then I expected so we had to use the car to go for lunch and outings rather than the bikes, but since we could use the BBQ we just went to the grocery store for some steaks. The place is within reasonable distance to Lake Country where you can find Ex Nihilo, Arrowleaf and Gray Monk wineries. Gray Monk had a lovely patio for dinner that you definitely need to make reservations for. Alison and Roger were wonderful hosts and I highly recommend visiting their humble abode. I heard they had a larger suite with kitchen too but for our purposes the snug was just right.
Such a lovely stop on our trip! If we were to suggest anything it would be to stay more than one night. Alison and Roger were very accommodating and friendly. Everything was as described and the breakfast was fabulous.
We had a wonderful stay with Alison and Roger. They are great hosts who make you feel welcome. The Snug was small but perfect size for us. We had excellent sleeps by the water, enjoyed a swim in the lake, and ate delicious breakfasts. The place was clean and tidy with nothing missing.
Staying with Alison is like staying with your favourite aunt. She went above and beyond to cater to our needs. Would definitely stay with this lovely family again.
We had a great stay with Alison and roger, they were so welcoming an made us feel completely at home. The snug was cosy and although we didn't make use of the pedal boat / canoe etc, it was great knowing we were free to! Breakfast was fantastic and we enjoyed getting o know our hosts, would definitely recommend them to everyone. The property is the most beautiful and the setting picturesque, we had the best stay and will absolutely be going to stay again in the near future!

Alison's Vernon Lakeshore Paradise Retreat is exactly that! Her place and location are stunning. I am giving this amazing retreat five stars even though we arrived on a VERY HOT 99-degree day to Alison's lovely (albeit very tiny) lakeside cottage, The Snug, Because of the unusually high temperature, the cottage did not cool off enough for sleeping until well after sunset. But such a high temperature is extremely unusual for this area where few homes even have air-conditioning. I am confident that on virtually any other summer day, this little retreat would be as breezy and cool as it is beautiful. There is a large, well-appointed, private bathroom in the main house for those staying in the cottage. And our gracious hostess Alison made us a delicious breakfast before we went on our way. I highly recommend this little bit of paradise.
It was incredible!! Alison is soooooo friendly and we had lots of fun. In the evenings we were sitting together with the other guests and had some beer/wine/cheese... The breakfast was delicious, waffles, pancakes, eggs, whatever you want... :) The cottage was sooo cozy and the bed is cuddly!! Alison, be sure! I will be back!!! :)
Alison and her family were great hosts - the location is beautiful and the breakfast was amazing! The snug was comfortable and Alison provided us with a bunch of great local recommendations. I would highly recommend staying here - hopefully we'll get a chance to come back again!
We had a great time in Vernon thanks to Alice's (and Roger's) hospitality. If you're looking for a stunning view and private beach at Okanagan lake, great breakfast and useful tips about the area: this is the place to be. You'll enjoy a warm welcome and meet two kind and caring people.
We only stayed one night. We stayed in the Snug. We were really looking forward to staying with Alison and Roger in Vernon and we weren't disappointed. The snug is quite small (so we left our suitcases in the car) but very cozy and romantic. We felt very comfortable in the room. But the best part of this place is the garden and the lake. We spend quite a bit of time reading by the lake, swimming and canoeing (they kindly let us borrow their canoe!) just outside our room!!!
The breakfast was also amazing as well as Roger's advice on the rest of our trip with hikes to do in Yoho national Park.
Next time we go back, we would stay longer as it is really an amazing place.
