Best homestay experience ever! Yukiko provides us best place to live. That one night let me and my girlfriend very satisfied. Room facilities are clean and complete. Yukiko replied my message very timely and patiently and she even replied me at midnight and also called us a taxi at next morning. We wish we can come and live in atami again. Recommend!!

I'm going to be honest and first of all say that this was one creepy place. Yukiko was an excellent host, & even let us arrive a bit earlier to drop our stuff off. Her directions on how to get to her place were good, just recommend a taxi instead of walking up with your stuff. I don't think I've ever sweated so much in my life. The view of the ocean is quite amazing, that was probably my favorite part. Now to talk about the place itself.... It seemed like all of the apartments in that complex were abandoned and I'm pretty sure the ones across the street headed downward were too because there were all these weeds, and trash surrounding it. We all felt like we had walked into a horror film since it had an extremely creepy vibe to it. We wanted to leave as soon as we got to the place. To top it all off, we found a huge spider inside near the bed (I kid you not, the size of my whole hand, diameter of at least 5 inches-biggest spider we'd ever seen)... I hate to leave bad reviews, but I feel I can at least warn some people about this place and allow them to make their final decision.

Response from Yukiko:
Hi Krystal, I'm sorry that you felt uncomfortable in my house. Atami area, especially up on the hill where the room is is a second house area so not many people live there temporarily. That's way it gets quite dark at night. However I live by myself in the same area and my friend used to live by herself in this listing room. I wish I could realize your situation when you are here so that I could come and explain the area is safe. Although thank you for your review and I'll try to work on the light around the house as much as I can. Please send my regards to your sister and friend. Hope you still had a good time in Atami!

Yukiko was warm and welcoming. She dropped by to ensure that we were safe and sound. The interior was big and nice but the exterior was a bit run down. It is recommended to drive as the house was located up a steep hill. Overall experience was good. Thanks for hosting my family and we had a wonderful time in Atami

Great listing! Very roomy and fit my group of 5 comfortably. We actually ran into Yukiko on the way there and she made sure we found our way. We would definitely stay again if we came back to Japan.

For a visit to Atami, I would look no further. The apartment was spacious, tidy and clean, and well furnished. Yukiko was very reachable via messaging and provided excellent guidance as well as documents making it very clear how to reach the apartment. She also provided excellent suggestions for what to visit in the city and surrounding areas. I ran into her in the city and she was lovely in person as well. Highly recommended!

Yukiko is awesome! My boyfriend and I were unexpectedly stranded last minute in Atami without a place to sleep and Yukiko came to our rescue! Not only did she quickly respond to our request within minutes, but she offered to pick us up! So sweet. We will be forever grateful! Her place was beautiful, squeaky clean and had an awesome view of the harbor! She also arranged a taxi for us a couple times. It's only about 600 yen ($5.50) to get down to the harbor or train station or really anywhere in the cute little town of Atami.

Hi I'm Yukiko. I'm a mix of Swedish and Japanese. I love traveling the world and to meet new friends!
This place, Atami is a very historical and spiritual country side near Tokyo. I've moved here last year and just loving it. Full of nature, mountains, (of course Mt. Fuji!) and ocean scenery, peaceful neighbor... It's a best place to get inspiration and to meditate.
I would like you to know and experience a traditional and a contemporary style of Japan through staying our place. Hope too see you soon :)
