Robert and Michelle's home was a wonderful place to stay! The old schoolhouse is an amazing building, the small street is walking distance from everything, Athena the greyhound is very sweet, and warm sandwiches in the sunroom in the morning were a great way to start the day. Thanks!
My wife and I loved our stay in Newport. We were in town for only two nights, for a wedding, and left far sooner than we would have liked; what a beautiful town!
Our room and private toilet were very well maintained and had every modern convenience. This was a concern of mine before we arrived; the school house was first built in 18th century, so I wasn't sure what to expect, but was so very pleasantly surprised by the beautiful venue. Rob and Michelle have done a wonderful job rehabbing the old school house and were very gracious hosts.
We had an amazing time staying at the Trinity School House while in Newport for a friend's wedding. The house is located just a few walkable blocks from Newport's downtown area and the water. As you can see in the photos, the house is charming, VERY clean and comfortable. Michelle was incredibly flexible and communicative about check-in time so we were able to stop by, drop off our bags and snag the parking pass between scheduled wedding-weekend activities. The hall that our bedroom and our bathroom were in could be locked and separated from the rest of the house by a door. Besides having privacy, it allowed us to come and go without walking through the whole house, as our hall also had a separate door to the street. Michelle and Robert have a room with a refrigerator stocked with soda and water, and coffee for guests. They also have pastries and breakfast sandwiches available in the morning that we snagged on our way out, so we didn't even have to stop for breakfast before we hit the road back to DC. If you're looking for somewhere to stay in Newport, the Trinity School House can't be beat!
Robert and Michelle were an absolute delight. They have done an amazing renovation of there home and the location cannot be beat! The rooms are nicely appointed and luxurious linens to where I felt like I was at a Four Seasons. The communal sunroom is great to sit back and relax and they are even so sweet to provide an amazing breakfast sandwiches each morning. If your heading to Newport I would make this one of your top Airbnb picks.
Bob and Michelle were incredibly welcoming and kind...when I was feeling social, they were happy to chat, but they also gave me plenty of space to do my own thing. The property is exquisitely decorated, with plenty of breakfast food and snacks in the common room. And every time I left the house, I returned to a sparkling clean bathroom! What a great experience; I will definitely stay here the next time I visit Newport.
My husband and I had a great time at the Trinity School House. Bob and Michelle were great hosts- very welcoming and hospitable! The breakfast sandwiches and afternoon cookies were a much-appreciated surprise, and the renovated schoolhouse was beautiful and unique! Their home is located right in the middle of Newport- within walking distance to pretty much everything, which was perfect. If we make our way back to Newport again, we will definitely be staying here!
I couldn't believe how positive the reviews were for this place when we booked it, but I do now. What a great place and fabulous hosts! Everything is exactly as described, impeccably clean, and Bob and Michelle (and Athena) were so fun and friendly and obviously love what they do. The location is perfect: quiet residential area an easy and enjoyable walk to the waterfront. They outdid themselves with breakfast and amenities - I almost wanted to forget Newport and just hang out in the garden room all day relaxing and reading the paper. We'll definitely come back.
