Recomiendo mucho este lugar. Fina es adorable y mi atenta con sus huéspedes. La casa queda apartada de NYC, si no tiene afán es un sitio perfecto!
We were happy to choose Gina's apartment. Even i's not isolated private apartment - it's shared with two other guests. We occupied own bedroom and shared living room, kitchen and bathrooms with others. It was very convenient that Gina provided us with space were we parked our car. It's very hard (probably, impossible) to find parking space on the street! We escaped it due to Gina!
It's walking distance to subway station (three blocks only), and to two supermarkets.
Good location, save and close to the subway. Very good internet connection which was good for me because we were working some days from there. The bedroom was ok and the living room was a little dusty. We did not meet Gina since she was out of town but she was really clear with all the instructions to get into the house and she was always available to answer any question.
I had a great experience at Gina's apartment! I got stuck in traffic and had to change plans to arrive late (around 12am). Gina was super accommodating and kind when I let her know I was going to be late and she said that it wasn't a problem! I got into the apartment fine, found everything and even noticed a note welcoming me. The apartment was clean and inviting and the room was stocked with everything I needed for the night. It was a great experience and I'd definitely recommend staying here!!
Host was not in town, but was very responsive to questions via Air BnB messenger. Listing appeared as pictured and described. Simple and basic decor. Clean. Shampoo and toothpaste in the bathroom. Neighborhood appears to be up and coming - lots of ethnic markets and food (especially Caribbean, go eat some doubles at A&A Bake & doubles shop!), but also some newer looking coffee shops, a great beer market closer to the park. DO hang out at Prospect Park, visit Botanic Gardens, ride a bike around the neighborhood.
Room is on ground floor facing street and can be pretty loud at night with cars, sirens, horns/honking, and people's voices. Host provides ear plugs (I already had some, but a thoughtful gesture on her part), and they weren't enough to block out the sound so rest was a little hard to come by at times. Do note that the host has two other rooms listed in this same unit - they are at the rear of the building and might be quieter.
Thanks for the feedback on the noise--I am going to purchase a fan or noise cancelling machine immediately! As you mentioned, we provide earplugs for all guests (NYC is the city that never sleeps!) and the room already has a double set of curtains (including one set blackout curtains) and an air conditioning unit to muffle outside noise and light.
We enjoyed hosting you and your feedback will help us provide better accommodations for future guests, so thanks!
Gina is very welcoming and accommodating. The apartment is very clean and neat, and decent size. My girlfriend and I loved it.

About the Host, Gina
I am a Massage Therapist, Colon Hydrotherapist and Yoga Teacher (ExhaleHealingArts). I commute to work via the handmade Bamboo Bicycle I built. I am active--swimming, traveling, hiking, music, you name it! I moved to NYC after living in Rincon, Puerto Rico (10 yrs!) where I surfed, worked and built an Earthdome on my 5-acre property. I now split my time between the two places :)
Look forward to meeting you :)
