This warm and welcoming home is only 5ks from the city centre, five minutes from buses and the light rail, close to to Balmain, Leichhardt and Annandale, masses of restaurants, the famous Sydney Fish Markets, wonderful cafes, the famous bay walk (or ride), great weekend markets and other attractions too numerous to mention. Also it is only minutes by car to the CBD, 15 minutes by taxi to the airport and five minutes walk from both bus and the unique Sydney Light Rail which takes you to the Casino Fish Markets, Darling Harbour and Sydney Central Station
The bed room has an incredibly comfortable bed and is cosy and warm. IPod connection, great collection of books, wireless internet connection and your selection for (website hidden) porridge, muesli, fruit, eggs, toast, freshly brewed coffee and tea.
The house is cosy, warm and comfortable and as you can see from the photos, has a separate formal dining and sitting area with a family room and large kitchen overlooking a garden with a canopy of trees. barbecue facilities and outdoor dining.
I live in a cul de sac and there is plenty of street parking if you chose to drive. You can be in the central CBD in a few minutes if you are driving and the light rail and buses are only five minutes walk away..
The kitchen is large and functional. Breakfast is provided and dinner can be arranged if needed. Street parking is easy at all times and it is a very safe area.
The Fish Market - a real attraction - is only ten minutes away by tram and worth a visit.
I have been doing Airbnb for nearly twelve months and love having visitors from all over the world and have received very positive reviews from over 98% of my guests with some extending their stay and coming back for return visits. I have had a guest give a review describing her stay as the best Airbnb experience she has ever had.
Please expect a warm and comfortable experience with a really comfortable bed and great food. If you are looking for a real Sydney experience where you will feel like you are in your own home this is the place for you. I am happy to give you a short guided tour of the area and recommend experiences off the beaten track of tourists.
I love doing Airbnb and have had some wonderful experiences.
The guests have access to all the lower level of the house including a garden with table and chairs and a barbecue
Interaction with Guests
As much as the guests would like, happy to include them in activities, take them out for coffee or to the markets or leave them to their own devices if that is what they would like
It is a safe friendly neighbourhood with really friendly neighbours. Close to transport and a few minutes drive from the centre of the city.
yes, both a bus five minutes walk and the light rail (tram) which takes you into the city on a beautiful route including the fish market which is a fabulous place to visit for anyone who loves seafood
NO SMOKING in the garden or house. Just general consideration on noise levels. The facilities are only shared with the owner so plenty of flexibility. I have a small dog (staffy crosses with kelpie) who is very friendly and spends a lot of time outside. He loves making friends both with people and other dogs and he is very bright. My guests always fall in love with him and my friends nearly always want me to bring him for a visit.
A very nice homely place that is close to the city and great restaurants and cafe. One of my favourite bnb experiences so far:)
From the initial acceptance, Adele made sure we were well looked after. Though she was away working Nick and Ash made us welcome. Mr Woodster (Woody) was a constant companion after an initial bark. The room is well appointed and the bed very comfortable.
Adele's place is a few minutes to the light rail and busses to the city. The bowling club is at the end of the street and the best pizzas made by Lennie at Castel Mola about 5 minutes away in Norton St Leichhardt. Close to everything but far enough away not to be noisy. Thanks Adele and The Woodster for a great stay.
Easy check in and check out. Quiet neighbourhood and walking distance to the bus stop.
When we arrived, the room we booked hadn't been cleaned yet. Adele upgraded us to the upstairs room, which is bigger and has its own bathroom.
The pictures of the whole house is clean and tidy but what we experienced was different. Rotten fruits in the fridge and on the table. The kitchen table was a disaster. Fruit flies everywhere. We didn't use the fridge or anything in the kitchen.I guess the downstairs couple should be to blame, not Adele.Cuz she was out of town those days. Spider webs and dust in the bathroom and bedroom. Even one above our bed. Could be better.
Yes I was away for a month and left a couple who I thought I could trust to take care of the house. I am really sorry for your experience, you are right, when I came home the house was tidy but obviously hadn't been properly cleaned. I did offer my house sitters to get a regular cleaner but they had promised that they would thoroughly clean the house and charged me accordingly. I agree about the fridge, it obviously hadn't been cleaned. In future if I am not there I will make sure that the house is professionally cleaned each week. If you ever come to Sydney again I would like to offer you a night's free accommodation to compensate for your experience. As you can see from my other reviews this is not the experience that most people have. If you had communicated with me at the time I would have very quickly sorted it out.
Adele is a generous , laid back host. She was gone most of the time we were there, but was available by phone to answer our questions.
She made check in and check out a breeze!
The photos of her place are deceiving as they make it look very clean, uncluttered and tidy, which was not our experience.
This was our first time staying at an airbnb. Instantly we felt this was a exciting experience. Adele is a definetely a people person. She will cook breakfast for u and have a chat about anything. It is like she is your auntie, who haven't seen fir long time. The Rozelle markets she took us on Sunday, was a gem spot on Darling st. Last not least, was Woody the dog, he was good company and very friendly. It was so sad leaving him behind , he was sulky when he saw our suitcases. But I am sure he is happily playing in the back yard with new friends now.
Adele and Woody, her dog, are warm, welcoming and easy going hosts. It was fun chatting with Adele about various topics ranging from food, Australia, politics, and the environment. She was also very accommodating and caring. One day while we were there, we were travelling out of Sydney a good part of the day with our 4 year old daughter. She was concerned our daughter would be very tired by the time we are back and insisted on cooking for her and us too of course. She took a lot of effort due to our food constraints and it was one of the best dinners we had while we were there.
The bed as advertised is really comfortable.

I am extroverted and love sharing my house with friends and family. I have been an airbnb host for almost nine months and really enjoy meeting and hosting people from all parts of the world.
I enjoy cooking, painting, reading, gardening and work part time in recruitment. I have met people from all over the world and shared mostly wonderful experiences with them.
