The Space

This warm and welcoming home is only 5ks from the city centre, five minutes from buses and the light rail, close to to Balmain, Leichhardt and Annandale, masses of restaurants, the famous Sydney Fish Markets, wonderful cafes, the famous bay walk (or ride), great weekend markets and other attractions too numerous to mention. Also it is only minutes by car to the CBD, 15 minutes by taxi to the airport and five minutes walk from both bus and the unique Sydney Light Rail which takes you to the Casino Fish Markets, Darling Harbour and Sydney Central Station

The bed room has an incredibly comfortable bed and is cosy and warm. IPod connection, great collection of books, wireless internet connection and your selection for (website hidden) porridge, muesli, fruit, eggs, toast, freshly brewed coffee and tea.

The house is cosy, warm and comfortable and as you can see from the photos, has a separate formal dining and sitting area with a family room and large kitchen overlooking a garden with a canopy of trees. barbecue facilities and outdoor dining.

I live in a cul de sac and there is plenty of street parking if you chose to drive. You can be in the central CBD in a few minutes if you are driving and the light rail and buses are only five minutes walk away..

The kitchen is large and functional. Breakfast is provided and dinner can be arranged if needed. Street parking is easy at all times and it is a very safe area.

The Fish Market - a real attraction - is only ten minutes away by tram and worth a visit.

I have been doing Airbnb for nearly twelve months and love having visitors from all over the world and have received very positive reviews from over 98% of my guests with some extending their stay and coming back for return visits. I have had a guest give a review describing her stay as the best Airbnb experience she has ever had.

Please expect a warm and comfortable experience with a really comfortable bed and great food. If you are looking for a real Sydney experience where you will feel like you are in your own home this is the place for you. I am happy to give you a short guided tour of the area and recommend experiences off the beaten track of tourists.

I love doing Airbnb and have had some wonderful experiences.

Guest Access

The guests have access to all the lower level of the house including a garden with table and chairs and a barbecue

Interaction with Guests

The Neighborhood

It is a safe friendly neighbourhood with really friendly neighbours. Close to transport and a few minutes drive from the centre of the city.

Getting around

yes, both a bus five minutes walk and the light rail (tram) which takes you into the city on a beautiful route including the fish market which is a fabulous place to visit for anyone who loves seafood

  • I travel to Sydney for business purposes and needed a comfortable place handy to transport. Adele's house fits the bill. She's a gracious hostess, very kind, very helpful. The location is close to good shops, the CBD and as my work took me to Olympic Park, it was also very convenient, by car.

An added bonus, if you like dogs, is Woody her kelpie/bully cross. Woody is a very well behaved and friendly dog. If dogs aren't your thing, Woody won't bother you - he waits to be invited before making friends with you.

Once again, thank you Adele for letting me stay - I shall return.

  • Adele is a wonderful host. She has patiently answered every question and given numerous tips for our stay in Sydney. Her place is great to reach easily every important spot. We have very enjoyed to talk with her and to have breakfast together. We can warmly recommend to stay at her house. Beware of the dog he is so cute, that we would like to take him with us.

  • I stayed with Adele for two nights when I was in Sydney for work. It was very convenient and Adele was welcoming and accommodating. She when out of her way to help me even lending me a cable for my phone and buying a new cable for me. If you're looking for something close to the city, great value for money and with a very friendly host then stay at Adele's place.

  • Adele made me feel really welcome, and was exceptionally generous with her time which made my arrival in Sydney from the UK very special. An eclectic home which is really convenient to the city as well as interesting suburbs. Loved Woody, her dog!

  • Adele's accommodation worked perfectly for my needs. It is a close walk to the Lilyfield light rail station and was a short work to Norton St where I was working for the week. The room was very comfortable and there were loads of great books to read. Great bathroom and kitchen facilities. I even went exploring the local food markets and coffee shops with Adel's help. All of which really made my week :)

  • I stayed with Adele for 2.5 weeks while looking for a permanent home and had a great stay. I had some pretty specific needs, as I was working from home while looking for a permanent rental, but nothing was ever too much effort. Adele granted me complete access to the dining room which became a temporary office for me and worked wonderfully.
If you are looking for a soulful, personal, friendly home where you can be independent but still ask questions and seek help when needed, then this is the place for you.
I felt completely at home and had a wonderful time relaxing in the garden every day. Adele showed me around the area including her favourite coffee shops, markets, and some unique, rare gems in Balmain. Staying with Adele provided a wonderful introduction to the city and comes highly recommended.

  • We had a lovely time at Adele's. Even though she was away during our stay, she made sure everything was set up and in order. She even kindly let my daughter use her own room. Her flatmates were very accommodating and Woody the dog made a firm friend with my daughter. Our room was very comfortable and parking very easy. We would happily recommend staying at Adele's.

  • I had an awesome time at Adele's house :) I spent my first days in Australia at her lovely home and can say that it was the best choice I could have made :) She was so friendly and my room was really comfortable and cosy. We had a great time, she was very helpful and it was great to talk to her and her lovely friends. And she loves Tom Waits, do I have to say more? :) I also felt totally in love with her dog Woody :) So the only thing I can say is: absolutely recommended! Everybody who wants to have a lovely and comfortable start in Australia should go to Adele! I really hope to see her again :)

  • Really good house and bedroom ! 5min walking to take the bus and less than 30min to circular quay or 10min walking for the tram to go to central station through fish market.

From the airport is better to catch a taxi if you are at least 2 people ($40) rather the public transport.

  • Adele offers basic accommodation in a lovely house well situated to access of the CBD and surrounding suburbs. She is friendly and happy to help with questions about the area. Woody is a lovely friendly dog. However cleanliness was an issue, so preparing food wasn't an option for us. We also found the house rather noisy.
