This by far was one of my favorite airbnb experiences, mostly because Dianna was so hospitable and her home was so inviting. When we pulled up to her house around 10pm, it was nicely lit and charming in cozy way, similar to Dianna herself. Despite being a bit exhausted, somehow we all mustered the energy to stay up till 1am or so with her and another guest around her big dining table, and again engaged in conversation the next morning during brunch and into the early afternoon.
We had such a comfortable stay too. Her house is impeccably built with nice wood detail and filled with intriguing art and artifacts spread throughout the home to explore. Her bathroom was supplied with lovely scented products too.
Dianna is deeply involved in her community and it was an absolute delight getting to know her and her other guests all within a 1-night stay. Wish we could've stayed longer to explore nearby trails, but I'm looking forward to visiting again next time I'm in the Tahoe area. It was worth escaping South Lake Tahoe for a bit, the drive to/from Markleeville was scenic, and you absolutely cannot miss looking up at the stars at night.
If you're looking for something off the beaten path, okay with dogs, and embrace meeting others, I would highly recommend a stay here.
Thank you Papa and Auntie Dianna :)
Dianna was an absolutely incredible host! We came to Markleeville for the Death Ride (amazing endurance cycling event hosted annually in the area), but can honestly say that our stay here rivaled the Ride as the highlight of our trip. The house is gorgeous — spacious, comfortable, and on a beautiful property. Dianna made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived, constantly offering us delicious baked goods and soothing teas, and hearty breakfasts in the morning. She even woke up at 3:30am on the day of our event to make sure we got a hot breakfast before we took off! Thanks so much, Dianna, for a truly wonderful stay, and for all your kindness.
Very nice stay. We were so lucky as it snowed during the night so the very nice chalet was covered in white. Beautiful. Great address. Strongly recommended and will go again !
We stayed in Kyle's cabin, which was beautiful and charming. We had originally booked a room in Dianna's house - which is absolutely stunning with lots of light and air and views of the mountains - but when the hot water wasn't working for a couple of days, Dianna generously offered to upgrade us at no charge, so we had the little cabin to ourselves and enjoyed cooking, playing guitar, and reading in front of the fire. Dianna is a wonderful host. She cooked us delicious breakfasts and gave us advice on places to hike and to eat. We so enjoyed relaxing in front of the wood stove and talking with her each morning before heading out to hike. I will definitely be back!
We had such a wonderful stay at Dianna's beautiful home. The house was incredibly well-decorated, cozy, and clean. Dianna was also such a generous and helpful host, just really went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and gave us great recommendations for restaurants and hiking trails. An impeccable experience through and through; we can't wait to visit again! Thank you, Dianna :)
We had a great experience staying at Dianna's quiet and peaceful home. The room was comfortable with a spacious bath room and tub. Her home was cozy and warm, with great living space, kitchen and dining that we could use. The other guests at the home were very friendly as well and cooked some meals for all of us. Dianna also has a dog that is fun to hang out with.
Diana is very sweet and have a great attention to detail. The room we had was just PERFECT. Is a peace of art. With private nice bathroom. Her house is peaceful, the view is beautiful. The dog "papa" is lovely. I will definitely go back there.
Thank you again Diana.

About the Host, Dianna
I believe in basic goodness - good beds, good views, good company. Connectedness and privacy. We don't do TV but indulge in a few good movie nights on request. I support and promote sustainable tourism in the Sierras.
