The Space

a modern, quiet, cozy private room with bathroom in a 400+ year old historic building in the center of the old city. 5 minutes walking to the center square, restaurants, and sites. Beautiful garden. Wireless & street parking.
Your room is clean, comfortable, and completely private.

Guest Access

I live on another level which is not available to guests. However, I'm happy to do a wash for travelers, and I'm happy to share my refrigerator if the one in the room is too small. There is a freezer with ice in the basement if you like cold drinks!
If you're in the mood for a cookout, you can use the grill in the garden.

Interaction with Guests

I love meeting my guests and sharing stories. However, if you have a busy agenda, I'm happy to leave you alone.

The Neighborhood

I love that I can walk everywhere in the city from my house. If the weather changes suddenly, I'm never too far to run home.
The building doesn't look impressive from the outside, but the interior is as modern as anything in the US.
If you're an American, what fun to say you stayed in a house that's older than your country!!!

Getting around

The bus and taxi stand are 2 minutes away on the other side of Poarta Schei.

  • Just perfect! I couldn't think of a better location (central yet quiet). The room is so beautiful, I felt like I had just entered a Spitzweg painting. It is perfectly clean and has nice little features, such as a coffee maker. And Rinda welcomed us so warmly, though we had booked literally last minute. Will come here again next time we're in Brasov. Thank you, Rinda!

  • Rinda's house was great, right in the city centre of Brasov. It was clean and had everything we needed even a kettle with tea and coffee :-)
Good communication too. Thank you for accepting our last minute booking and for waiting for us because we were late!

  • Our accommodation at Rinda's was amazing! The house is situated in the old centre close to nice cosy cafés and restaurants, and just near strada Sforii or string street(quiet famous street in Brasov). We loved the room and all the tiny details and information Rinda provided. The room is very warm and clean. Unfortunately we didn't get to meet Rinda but hopefully next time we will:) thank you for all you help.

  • Rinda herself was not there, but Alexandra was a great help! She even lent me money with no real assurances she would ever get it back (except my word). She was also helpful with internet access since the WiFi did not work with my phone. My friend's phone and my iPod both were ok, just not my Samsung Galaxy S3 for some reason. A very minor issue that is clearly just my problem here.

As for the room, the location is great and it is quite amazing how well the outside sounds are cut off. It is within easy walking distance of the main square Piata Sfatului and Biserica Neagra. Like less than 1/2 a KM to either. I personally found it within easy walking distance to everything, the busses, the taxis, the supermarket, the restaurants, Turnul Alb and Negru, the main Park, the cable car up Mt Tampa....everywhere. It was very quiet except the for New Year's Eve Party! NYE in Brasov was worth the trip. It was the right mix of crowded but not stifling. The traditional music and fireworks were great. The room was very warm, we had all the room heat off and were ok all night. It was above freezing outside so that probably helped. There were plenty of heating option in the room if you prefer it warmer. There were a lot of Romania and Brasov travel advice left in the cubbies there, some is quite outdated. I assume most are left by other travelers, so the advice in them are all still useful, the prices and times, not as much. Check before you go. Certain buses were running different schedules for the holidays. Fun to find out at the bus stop. And really, this is not a room issue, that is a me being adequately prepared issue :)

Even while not there, Rinda was very responsive and helpful. Very good communication throughout the process to be sure when I would arrive and give me directions to getting there (found it on the first try).

There is a small fridge, a microwave, and a coffee maker there, but it is not set up at all for cooking food. You will be eating out for all meals. I knew that going in, so no problems there.

  • This was a lovely place to stay, right in the middle of old town Brasov and all of the attractions. Communication was excellent, the room was lovely. I would highly recommend Rinda's room! Thanks for having us.

  • A charming host, Alexandra, in a charming city of Brashov. Initially, we planned to stay for two nights, but eventually decided not to move on and stood for five days.
Generally speaking, with all due respect to the nature, historical and cultural sites, the greatest impression in Romania, was its people.

  • Rinda was a great host and her place was beautiful, cozy and in a great location. We unfortunately had very little time on our stopover in Brasov due to complications with our train tickets, but Rinda went out of her way to coordinate with our tour guide to make sure we could access the room and provided helpful information on getting to the train station very early in the morning. I highly recommend a visit to Brasov and Rinda's place is a wonderful base.

  • Rinda is one of the most amazing hosts we've had in all our travels through Europe. Right from the start she was friendly, accommodating, and extremely helpful. The location of the place is amazing (the photos are exactly what you get), everything is clean and comfortable, and the value is fantastic.

The thing that sets the place apart is the little things - the note on the door welcoming us, the heating pads on the bed because it was cold out, the local Romania touches in the room - everything just adds to the experience of staying here. Rinda even did our laundry for us (and folded it too!).

We will definitely stay here again when we get back to Brasov in the future, and would not hesitate in recommending Rinda's room to anyone heading to Brasov.

  • Rinda is one of those people who are simply successful at life. She provides accommodation in a very professional manner while still providing a personal and warm atmosphere. Leading up to our arrival, her communication was clear and immediate. When we arrived, we had a personalized welcome sign on the door. She offered us wine and gave us a tour of her amazing home before we sat down for a long chat about what it's like to live in Brasov. When we mentioned we wanted to catch some live music, she called up some local friends to get recommendations.

The room was more than adequate. Vaulted ceilings, comfortable beds and a spotless bathroom. The only thing I regret about our stay is that we didn't stick around longer.

  • Rinda accommodated us at late notice, which we were extremely grateful for! The room is located in an amazing building (vaulted ceilings!!), with a great location by Brasov's Old Town. We felt very much at home, even extending our stay from 4 to 6 nights. Rinda, Roman the cat, the room, and especially Brasov are fabulous. Highly recommended!
