Actually, I had to cancel on short notice. Il Nido Inn gratiously forgave most of my penalty for canceling late.
I look forward to staying at a future date.
Susan and Maurizio made us feel like home and our stay was a pleasure! The suite was really cosy and very clean and there was a fully equipped, modern kitchen, too. We totally recommend this place AND the delicious breakfast!! We even got some fresh salad from Susan's garden as a perfect match for our BBQ :)
Thank you very much! We'd love to come back!!
We truly enjoyed our stay at the Il Nido Country Inn. The house is nested between mountains in a quiet and peaceful location with a fantastic view! The suite was spotless, roomy and had two extremely comfortable beds. We loved cooking in the perfectly equipped kitchen. Besides that all, Susan made a delicious breakfast for us and she even took the effort to prepare it gluten free for Marco's father. Don't miss the opportunity to stay with Susan and Maurizio in their lovely home, it was really amazing and we wish to come back once again!
First - make sure you take Forde Station Rd to get to Il Nido when coming from Calgary/Canmore/Banff (the recommended route).
Me and my grandmother spent one night at Il Nido Country Inn in the Jay Suite this past weekend to celebrate my birthday. We wanted to have a relaxing stay in the Rockies away from the busy tourist areas. This suite was exactly what we were looking for. It is in a beautiful location not too far off of the Trans-Canada. The suite itself was perfectly clean, tastefully decorated, and very comfortable. Honestly, the pictures of the suite don't do it justice. The hosts are very knowledgeable of the area (suggested some great half-day hikes), extremely friendly, and beyond accommodating.
The breakfast - included with our stay - was restaurant quality. It was fantastic.
Chandra, great suggestions..Quite time from now on 10:00 till 7:30. Paper coffee are in the suite....you may have just miss them....Creamer/milk we provide them only when customer ask. From now on we will ask the customers at check in time. Great suggestions...Thank you...It's only with the help of guests like you that we can improve or service...Ciao Maurizio
We are a family of 6 who are visiting familiar haunts in Western Canada after a long absence. Having planned longer stays in Calgary and Vancouver, we stopped just for the one night in Golden on our road trip to Vancouver via the Okanagan, but if we had time we would have stayed longer at Susan and Maurizio’s wonderful resort. The surrounding scenery was magnificent and peaceful in a beautiful setting.
We stayed in Jay Suites - a super clean and spacious annex to the main house with more than enough room for 6 adults. Our host Maurizio showed us around the property and explained things in his charming and humorous way and made us feel completely at home. Although we forgot to book in advance, Susan rustled up one of the most exceptional and delicious breakfasts we have had for a long time, and at a most reasonable price.
Il Nido Country Inn. Highly recommended.
The Jay Suite was clean, spacious, and well appointed. The beds were very comfortable. The full kitchen was great for making breakfast before setting out for the day. We loved the property and being a little off the main tourist track -- so relaxing, and we even saw a bear on the road leading to Il Nido one evening. It was easily accessible to the national parks and activities in the Jasper/Banff/Golden area. We spent our four days white water rafting, canoeing, horseback riding, and glacier climbing during the day and relaxing at Il Nido in the evenings.
There are very few places where you feel extremely welcome. Our stay with Susan and Maurizio was something to remember. We were very well hosted and cared for at Il Nido, all of the facilities were immaculate and there was nothing unavailable to us. Maurizio went out of his way to give us advice on what to do each day and was always there when we needed anything (particularly a BBQ on Christmas Day!).
There were plenty of things to do at the lodge, the spa and sauna were delightful, bon fires outdoors kept us nice and warm and sleds were great fun in the snow. Susan's breakfasts were absolutely delicious! She made sure to cater for vegetarian and the bacon deficient.
I could go on and on however it may take up too much space! In summary we highly recommend staying with Susan and Maurizio at Il Nido, they are the loveliest hosts and I assure you that you'll have a wonderful time!
