Joyce's apartment was immaculately clean and exactly as described. The bed was very comfortable, and Joyce was very pleasant and accommodating -- there is even a heating pad in the bedroom! The neighborhood was pretty and convenient -- very easy access via both the #3 train and the A express subway. I would definitely stay there again.
Katherine: I am so sorry you missed it! It is inside the closet door, so when you open it you can adjust to how close or far away you want to be. I should have shown you the mirror, and I totally forgot! I appreciate the feedback though, it keeps me on my toes to provide everything my guest require to be comfy. Hope to see you back in NYC!
I really enjoyed my stay at Joyce's apartment. It was a home away from home. Everything was as described in the ad. The location was great - an Express train from Subway nearby got me into the city in approx 15 minutes.
Joyce was a wonderful host - very helpful and respectful of my time. Joyce was also helpful with the information about getting around NY. I would recommend this stay. Thanks Joyce it was great
I really like Joyce' apartment the moment I stepped in. The place is very homey and clean. Everything you need is provided for. It shows she is very good at this and she cares for her guests. The apartment is near the subway station & supermarket which i like. I will definitely stay here again if I come back to NY and will definitely recommend her place!
Joyce really made it feel like home and such a beautiful person. Room was exactly like what it was described and beautifully presented and clean. Thank you for a great New York experience!
I went to see some friends in Harlem and so I chose Joyce's Apt. The neighborhood is quiet, clean and safe. Easy to catch a taxi! The Apt. Is very well decorated and much more attractive than the photos. Indeed the room its spacious, a/c, attractive decoration and spotlessly clean. The bathroom is modern and it comes equipped . Joyce is a marvelous host she's very giving, talkative, has great stories to share, and makes sure she steers you in the right direction. She was aware , I'm a cyclist and so she gifted me with NYC 2015 Bike Map, something I will always treasure as I'm also a map collector . She made my ride in the city more enjoyable. I will definitely book in the future with Joyce as she's a joy!
We had a delightful stay in Joyce's apartment. It is spotlessly clean and perfectly organized for guests. The sleep number bed is very comfortable, and the shower is great. My daughter and I were in town for theater and with the nearby metro stops it was easy to get back and forth at any time of day.
We didn't get to meet Joyce until our last day but she is such a kind host. Everything you need is provided. We were so happy to get to meet her and talk a few minutes before we left. Joyce is a delightful lady and her apartment will always be our first choice when visiting the city.
Joyce has a nicely decorated apartment which is exactly same as described in the website. Even though Joyce was out of town when we arrived , she has thoughtfully asked her son to take care of our check-in .All instructions given are clear so we do not have any problem during our stay.
About the Host, Joyce
I live and work in Manhattan as a Certified Household Manager and manage properties and staff for my employer - I travel every so often. I have lived here for 10 years and still feel as though there is so much to learn about NYC. I walk a lot and explore the city on weekends. I have two sons and grandchildren, who visit often.
I am happy to help you with directions, etc. and give you any information that I know. I am interested in food and wine, there are so many restaurants here you can get lost just trying to decide where to eat! It is fun as is most everything here.
I have lived in the mid-west, Georgia, Colorado, California and Washington State and have traveled to all of the United States. Also have visited the Caribbean, Mexico, Canada, Turkey, Greece, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Hungary, Prague (which is a favorite of mine!). In September 2012 I visited Paris, Spain and Portugal and in fall of 2013, I took the train to Montreal and Quebec City, fantastic city! My son took me on a birthday celebration trip to Norway and St. Petersburg in January 2015. It was fabulous! Maybe we can share some travel adventure stories!
Hobbies are wine-tasting, skiing, walking, Pilates, reading and (website hidden) is in there somewhere.....Life should be fun, lots of laughs, meeting new people and having new adventures. I have traveled with Airbnb and have enjoyed meeting other hosts in my travels.
