The Space

The room is large and beautiful with a double bed and has four windows. I can ad futtons if you need a room for up to four people. It would be fine but two pople are perfect for this room where in the morning, in the city, the birds are chirping loudly.

Victorian Flatbush boasts large houses from early last century - this 100 year home sits on a quiet block. This room is the back bedroom upstairs with a double bed, air conditioning - furnished with antiques and decorated with art. The shared bathroom is next door and is restored.

I live alone in another of the upstairs bedrooms but am opening my home to you.

We are minutes from the subway and many, many resteraunts and night life. This is area has become one of the places to go in Brooklyn according to Timeout magazine -
Many resteraunts line Cortelyou rd which bustles at night.

  • Rick is a friendly and accommodating host with a beautiful place in a very up-and-coming section of Brooklyn. I would recommend this place to anyone looking to explore New York while having a calm, peaceful home-base.

  • The three of us were very comfy in Rick's lovely house ,our room was bright and air conditioned with plenty of room for our many suitcases! There are plenty of convience stores and supermarkets nearby aswell as some great local cafes and places to eat. It's a very short walk to the subway (Q line) so you have easy access to anywhere in Manhattan, great place to base yourself for any New York trip.

  • Rick was the ideal host. He was hospitable to a fault- quick to offer a sight-seeing opportunity or to suggest a good local restaurant. He was knowledgeable on a host of subjects and so was fun to chat with whenever we bumped into each other. He was quiet and respectful of your space- at times I didn't even know if he was in the house. On top of this, he took fine care of his charming house and was helpful if there ever was a problem or a question. I had a splendid time- would do it again- and recommend staying there to anyone.

  • Rick is a friendly host who helped me to get settled in and made a number of suggestions for things to do and see in the city. The room was comfortable and is in a nice, quiet Brooklyn neighborhood with lots of conveniences. I happily recommend Rick to any guest.
