About this listing
I live nearly halfway between Sydney and Brisbane and am very close to Port Macquarie with lovely beaches. Many beautiful places are close by, including a nudist beach.
I have free wifi to guests (and me) There is plenty of parking on the street and a local bus service operates. Wauchope is on the main Sydney to Brisbane train. I am gay and straight friendly. I love having visitors and am usually able to show them around!
Wauchope has a tourist facility called Timbertown which is set up like an old town and is set amongst acres of natural forest. It's an authentic heritage township, where a Horse and Carriage still runs, timber is still sawn and the bullock still hauls a load. There is also still a steam engine running!
Port Macquarie's fantastic beaches and impressive coastline are very close and the beautiful lighthouse and the views from the cliff are well worth a visit!

Ted communicates very promptly. It was easy to find and quite comfortable overnight stay for this money. Though, Ted keeps a big sheppard at home. It feels not clean with very strong smell everywhere. The dog was frequently barking and Ted tried to shut up it even more aloud. Generally speaking, we did not feel comfortable.
Ted was very welcoming, as we arrived in the dark, and he had a log fire going! Our room was ready, clean linen and all we could have wanted. The hot showers were much appreciated.
Ted allowed us to use his kitchen and space in the fridge and even cooked us hot porridge the following morning.
A much appreciated stop-over on our way North. Thank you, Ted.
Okay for a stop betwen Brisbane and Sydney. The room was unfortunately not clean. All the other aspects like shower, wifi, car park and location are satisfying.
I am disappointed that you said the room was not clean. The room was clean. The issue was that you discovered that there was a stain on the sheets of the bed. As I explained to you, the bed was made up with clean, or so I thought, sheets by the last guests for me, as I was away. No one had slept in the bed and I have no idea how the stains got onto the sheets. When you pointed it out to me I immediately gave you new sheets to use. I then washed the old sheets, but the stains remained, so I have thrown them out. It is a pity you did not tell the whole story, like the fact that I was just as horrified as you to find the sheets stained and that I immediately gave you new sheets. I retract my offer to you, that I left in my review of you. I would not be pleased to host you again.
My husband and I stayed with Ted for more than a week and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room was as described, clean and comfortable. He allowed us use of the kitchen and laundry, which was helpful. Ted is a very kind and generous person. His first instruction to is upon entering the house was "treat is like it's your own home". As well as playing the host and ensuring we were always comfortable, we also had dinner together and shared some good stories. The house is very clean. If you see the bad review below, please ignore it. The truth was that the room, bathroom and kitchen were always clean, and I think that person was probably just being nasty. We will definitely hope to stay with Ted next time we are in the area. Highly recommended.
Excellent host. I felt very comfortable in Ted's lovely home, which backs on to a gorgeous bush setting. Thanks Ted!
The reservation was canceled 25 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
We stayed at Ted's place on our way to Sydney from Byron Bay. Ted was prompt and effective with his communication, which we really appreciated. Ted was also kind enough to wait for us as we arrived at night. Amenities / facilities were as described. If you want a restive / peaceful place to spend the night on your way to Sydney to Brisbane (or vice versa), then I would have no hesitation in recommending Ted's place. Thanks once again for the accommodation Ted, and also for the breakfast. All the best, Zak
About the Host, Ted
I don't like talking about myself as I find it quite hard. I am an average sort of person. I am very tactile; like light classical music; the outdoors and I have a German Shepherd dog which is very shy.
I have been married to women twice; the last one only lasted four years and it will never happen again. I don't think I understand women, but what male does?
I like traveling and am looking forward to traveling to Europe again soon. I also have been to Israel several times and love that country.
The bed is now a new Queen size one.
