About this listing
This three bedroom craftsman home in the charming downtown San Diego neighborhood of South Park has been completely renovated and features a private porch and shared yard.
This three bedroom craftsman home in the hip walkable downtown San Diego neighborhood of South Park has been completely renovated and features a private patio, shared yard, full use of the kitchen, and enough beds for 4 (in addition to a included, and really comfy, queen size air mattress (2 more) and couch space an additional 1).
Though the home is walking distance to Balboa Park, and less than three miles from the San Diego Zoo & downtown San Diego, the neighborhood has plenty of free parking, is very quiet and offers plenty to do. The home is also walking distance from the 30th street corridor where guests will find popular restaurants, and some of the best beer bars in the country. My favorite place for a drink is Hamilton's Tavern (which is consistently rated one of the best beer bars in the nation. If you just want a nice night in, feel free take our growler to any of the nearby brewery tasting rooms (Thorn St. Brewery, Riptide, Fall, Modern Times, etc.) Travelers wishing to explore further are only 10 minutes from downtown or five minutes from Balboa park via a nearby bus stop, or several small rental cars from the company car2go.
At our pad, travelers also have access to our shared patio area with covered shade, yard, kid's playhouse, free wireless internet, our record collection and player, plenty of pots and pans to cook something tasty, closet space, free laundry (washer and dryer).
Guests will have private access to the full 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom home, including kitchen and laundry facilities. Guests will also have access to a porch with rocking chairs in front of the home.
Guest will also have shared access to the backyard (with hammock, outdoor seating, and BBQ grill), but seeing as this is a multi-unit property they will share the space with 2 other long-term renters.
Interaction with Guests
I can recommend services and restaurants via phone or Airbnb app, but most of the time we let guests have the property to themselves.
Parking is free and plentiful.
On 30th and Grape there are bike share stations using the city's new Decobike system (take a bike from one station and return it to another one at your destination).
Other Things to Note
Please do not feel the need to wash any laundry before you leave, but do pile up all used towels and sheets so the cleaners know what needs to be washed. Also, Please remove all trash and recycling. Please leave it in the outside trash barrels in the alley (blue is for recycling and black is for trash).
You are welcome to use spices and cooking supplies. Please leave food (dry and canned goods) as you found them.
Please be respectful of neighbors and keep the noise down after 10pm.
Pets are not allowed on the property. Sorry, but this is a courtesy to the tenants who share the property.
Please do not smoke on the patio or on in the home. If you must smoke, do so in the front yard.
My wife and I are teachers in San Diego, California, and enjoy travelling on our summer vacations. We are always interested in meeting new people and getting to know new cultures. We are new to airbnb, but we have hosted many people from other countries before, and we have traveled rather extensively. If you are coming to San Diego when we are here then we would love to show you around. If we are coming to your town, then I hope you can o the same (if you are available!) We look forward to meeting you!
