Island Burrow is perfectly situated on the edge of Penneshaw town among beautiful she-oaks.

Experience the natural beauty of Kangaroo Island, with bush and ocean views from the deck and a 10minute walk to the pristine town beach. Enjoy visits from kangaroos, wallabies, Glossy Black Cockatoos and the occasional echidna.

The house itself is unique and thoughtfully styled with quality furnishings and artwork to reflect the colours of the picturesque surrounds.

The space
Island Burrow is a three bedroom hideaway boasting two generous queen size bedrooms and a twin single bedroom.

If you love to cook, we have a well equipped kitchen with everything you need to make the most of Kangaroo Island’s local produce. Our kitchen includes an induction cooktop, oven, fridge, freezer, microwave, toaster, kettle, sandwich press, coffee plunger and quality cookware/utensils.
We also have a BBQ on the deck.

The house is warm and cosy in the winter, and light and bright in the Summer. Heating and cooling are provided by a split system air conditioner in the lounge and wall mount panel heaters in the bedrooms.

Wi-Fi internet access is available. We also have a selection of board games and plenty of books to keep you entertained at night.

Other things to note
One of the unique things about Island Burrow is the lack of boundary fences between the property and the adjacent nature reserve, allowing native wildlife to roam around the property. Due to this, Island Burrow is not suitable for pets.

Many birds reside in the beautiful trees surrounding Island Burrow, including Magpies. Be cautious during Spring as they have been known to swoop those who venture too close to their nests.

Please note, the driveway to the property is very steep. Guests should take extra care when driving up and down the slope.

The house has two steps leading down to the front door from the driveway - so this listing may not suit those with mobility issues.

Island Burrow is situated in a quiet and tranquil neighbourhood. In respect for our wonderful neighbours (and wildlife) we do not allow large parties.

This is great house for families, however, we do not provide cots or any other amenities specifically for babies or young children. So whatever you need, please bring it with you. The house is not baby proofed, but we trust parents judgement in relation to this.

We suggest our guests have travel insurance. Very occasionally, the ferry to Penneshaw can be cancelled due to bad weather, disrupting travel plans. As this is a travel issue, rather than an issue with our listing, we don't issue refunds but may be able to extend stays if there is availability.

We stock a basic pantry with includes: coffee bags, black tea, salt, pepper and olive oil. The local IGA is within a 5minute drive from Island Burrow and has an excellent selection of groceries should you need anything else for your stay.
