It was a pleasant experience. I enjoyed the tica breakfast with the fresh fruit and delicious juice.
I really enjoyed the personal touch with Ana Maria and her kind hospitality.
Arrived in San Jose at 11pm and stayed for one night at hotel posado. They arranged a shuttle pick up for $25 from the airport and took about 20 minutes to get to the hotel. When we arrived, we expected to be greeted by Carol, but it was a gentleman who knew very little English. Nothing was opened around the area and the lobby was completely dark, so we stayed inside our "jail-like" rooms and went to bed early since there was really nothing to do but sleep. The room itself had a tv, two double beds, fairly clean, and a private bathroom w shower but was dark and felt very claustrophobic. Showers were difficult to use, didn't drain well and water was lukewarm. Was awakened by loud phone conversations and hotel staff talking right outside our door at 6am! Only descent part about the stay was the breakfast, which was fairly average also. At $50 a night in San Jose, I expected more but I guess you get what you pay for. Also, pictures of room posted on site is not accurate.
Hi Hayana Im very sorry you didnt like my house, rememberr it is an old house, not a big hotel . It is dificult to be accord to every body, the pictures in the room are tipical pictures of our country, Sorry again Illtry to change the things didnt work for you. Ana María
I stayed at Hotel Posada del Sol with 3 friends at the beginning and end of our trip to Costa Rica. The location seemed very secure, with shops and restaurants within a 10 minute walk. The room and bathroom were clean, although due to street construction there was no running water during the day.
As another reviewer has noted, the reception area can be noisy with guests checking in and out, which woke us up a few times in the early morning. Additionally, it seemed like not everyone on the staff spoke English, so you'll probably find it helpful to have a Spanish-speaking person in your group.
Breakfast was great and the staff was helpful in helping us call taxis to the bus station and to the airport.
Difficile à trouver si on est en voiture, mais personnel très aidant et chambres propres. Petit déjeuner servi sur une belle terrasse agréable. Bonne adresse.
Karol was extremely helpful and efficient in making last minute reservations via my smart phone that is smarter than me. The location is excellent with safe walking to restaurants, parks and museums. The weather is great in February.
All the staff at Posada Del Sol are super friendly and will do their best to help you out regardless of your needs (breakfast, wireless Internet, etc.)
It is well located in San Jose.
This hostel was exactly as described. Our room was exactly what we needed after a very long day of travelling. It was a bit noisy because the window opened to the main area. No complaints! The staff was very helpful when we needed help communicating with a taxi driver. Breakfast was great!
Posada Del Sol is located within a 10 minute walk of San Jose.
The staff were very friendly and the breakfast provided in the morning was great (lovely coffee and fruit).
The room we had was located might next to the receptionist area. If you are a very light sleeper, you might be disturbed by the noise of check in/out guests. The room also didn't have a window, so the air felt/smelt pretty stale. Cleanliness wise, it feel a bit short of what we expected from other reviews. Dust on shelves, cobweb in one of the top corners of the room and some hairs in the bed. There is hot water, but it can be a little temperamental at times. It was overall OK, but didn't live up to our expectations set by other reviewers.
Clean and affordable place in San Jose.
The hosts are very friendly.
Our room was a bit noisy but comfortable.
