Before I describe my apartment I would like to give some general information on Rome.
Rome is one of the most beautiful cities in the world and is rich in art and stunning views but has a big problem, the means of transport public concerning all end at midnight, only for certain central lines there is a night service, subway lines to 23,30. While there (email hidden)ly nightlife, anyone who wants to enjoy Rome after midnight must know that he will return to the apartment by taxi at a price that varies from 30 to 40 €
The apartment has two large bedrooms a living room a kitchen a bathroom, two inputs and three balcony. Every balcony overlooking different views.
The apartment has a modem with wifi internet free 24 hours 24. I have a 40 inch HD TV with full Sky subscription. The room has an LCD television with satellite channels.
The salon has a table that can turn into billiards and ping pong. The kitchen area is equipped with oven and super fast
The district is peripheral and can be reached by bus no. 088 and 246, the first just 50 meters from the station connects with aurelia. The second, about 300 meters connects to the subway line A.I am very close to the Vatican.
There is a restaurant called Wok Cook where you can eat buffet at a cost of 10 € and 16 € for lunch and dinner, steaming it always eats his fill up at a fixed price, excluding drinks.
Another restaurant is at 13 Checco known for its excellent cuisine.
The neighborhood has many of the big supermarkets and clothing stores (Carabetta) mobli (world convenience and Castellucci) toys (toys rocco).
For all those who want to enjoy Rome without chaos is the maximum after the district is the Roman countryside and the sea 10 km.
I am lucky to be the last guest in this place. Rodolfo was moving the day I left. I had to leave early in the morning. He offered cash refund for my inconvenience, but I declined because I just loved the place and thought it was so worth it. This by far the best place I've had in Italy, perfectly serves my purpose (I spent the days there working on my computer). It is a bit far from city central, but very quiet and comfortable. The place is spotless, and Rodolfo, even though speak limited English, is very thoughtful and have everything you may need ready - towels, your own closet, space in the bathroom cabinet, your own fridge, bus schedules, etc. The view from the room is amazing.
This was such a great experience! Rodolfo is an amazing host! I was in Rome for one week and, after reading the reviews prior to booking, decided to spend the first three nights in another location in the center of Rome and the last four nights at Rodolfo's apartment. In hindsight I probably could have spent all seven nights at Rodolfo's and saved a lot of money. :-)
The room is spotless, the view is great, there is plenty of space for your belongings in the room as well as in the bathroom, and I had my own television and refrigerator. Plus Rodolfo was kind enough to take me to the airport early in the morning before he had to drive to work which I really appreciated.
But, most importantly, my best personal interactions with other folks during my stay in Rome happened in Rodolfo's neighborhood. I would grab a morning espresso from the bar next to his apartment and everyone inside was so kind to me. I ordered pizza at the take-out pizza spot next door and the owner was so friendly. Almost every interaction I had was amazing. Not to mention that it was really refreshing to travel from the center of Rome and escape the hordes of other tourists. I didn't mind the commute at all.
So yes, I highly recommend staying here!
Rodolfo (email hidden)!! He is very thoughtful, kind and polite! The apartment is clean and charming! The room is very cosy and the view from the window is very nice! Rodolfo prepared all the staff that I might need. I loved staying at Rodolfo's place! Thanks, Rodolfo!!
Rodolfo (email hidden)! He picked us up from the metro station and drove us to his apartment. While his English may not be perfect, communication was not a problem. It's important to note that it does take a ~25 minute bus ride and ~10 minute metro ride to reach central downtown Rome. However, Rodolfo gave really excellent directions and made the entire process easy. We had to change our travel dates at the last minute, and Rodolfo was very accommodating. He even drove us to the airport at 6am! For ease of travel and flexibility, I would recommend Rodolfo!
Rodolfo was extremely kind and willing to help with any questions about Rome, even with us not speaking Italian. While his apartment is outside the city centre, he gave excellent instructions on using the bus and the bus trip to the metro wasn't too long. Being outside of Rome allowed us to see parts of the city we might not have been able to otherwise. The room was lovely, plenty of room for all our stuff and had a fantastic view.
My 5-day stay in Rodolfo's house is my first airbnb experience, and it will be difficult to match. The price is even cheaper than renting a bunk bed in a backpacker hostel in Center, and you get your own room! I will definitely go back.
Amenities - You will be given your own room with a king-sized bed, and also your own cabinets, drawers, TV, wifi internet, chairs and tables. Rodolfo will also provide you with space inside the bathroom for your toiletries and will let you use your personal refrigerator/washer and his kitchen. The house is exceptionally tidy, and that pretty much compensates for its relative not so short distance from the city center.
Location - The house is located in a residential part of Rome so it not scary to walk even at night. It's nice to tour central Rome during the day and go home to a nice neighborhood, feeling like a local. There are nearby supermarkets (cheaper and complete because they cater to locals) and tabachi shop. The walk+bus+metro is straightforwardly convenient - 10min walk, then take bus 246/246P and then take Metro from Cornelia (website hidden) - Rodolfo fetched me from the airport for only EUR10, and prepared dinner when I arrived. He also drove me to the station on checkout. He is very accommodating/courteous and thinks of his guest's welfare. When I was there, he made sure to be very quiet whenever he left for work at 6AM. He explained the directions and gave me Italy tips on my first day. If your destination is on his way, he will also give you a ride. He is the perfect host.
You will get so much more from the rent that you have to pay. For rent even cheaper than bunk beds in hostels, you get your own room (and privacy), and get a really home-y feel to your stay in Rome. I recently travelled to Rome, Naples, Florence, Venice and Milan and stayed in both bnb's and hostels. My stay in Rodolfo's house was definitely the best.
If still not convinced, look at the other reviews in his page and you will never find negative feedback about this bnb, that is within the host's control. Very recommended.
Rodolfo was very nice he picked me up from the airport when I arrived and even dropped me off at the train station the day I left. He provided a lot of room for my necessities. His home is impeccable and the room is decorated with a very retro style. The bus stop to Rome is only a 5 min walk and then a train to the Vatican. The distance is a bit inconvenient but if you're good with directions then you should be fine!
Rodolfo (email hidden). While we were not able to communicate much (I know literally no Italian and Rodolfo's English is limited), he was extremely kind and gracious, qualities that transcend language differences (he picked me up at the airport for only €10 and generously prepared my very first tasty meal in Italy!). His apartment is indeed peaceful, and while a bit of a hike (about an hour by bus and then metro to central Rome) to Rome proper, it's well worth the very fair price. A really warm and generous guy.
