About this listing
This is a great space for someone visiting Portland for work or just checking it out. We are in the West Slope neighborhood so about 5 miles to downtown and easy access to Beaverton area as well. It's quiet, comfy and the neighborhood is very safe.
Offering a private day-lite basement with a private entrance, living room, kitchenette, private bath and bedroom...
Super comfy Queen size bed, full bath with tub/shower, kitchenette including small fridge and microwave, coffeemaker, toaster, hot plate with cooking utensils. Very cozy living room with big comfy couch and chaise. Apartment has good wi-fi connection.
This was written by an executive with AIRBNB who stayed here..."Everything about this listing was perfect for me: the location, the amenities and the host! She proactively communicated with me before the check-in day, stayed up late to greet me outside the listing, as my flight arrived late, and made sure I knew where everything was and went over check-out procedures as well. The listing had every toiletry and linen I needed, and good things I didn't expect, like homemade muffins, greek yogurts, juice and coffee. I came and went as I pleased and had complete privacy and anytime I had a question, she responded quickly to my text messages/emails. The neighborhood was so safe and it felt great to be able to run in the pre-dawn hours without hesitation, and it's close to the Pearl District. I definitely would stay there again!"
Hope to hear from you!
This is a great +- 700 sq ft self-contained apartment on the lower level of our house with guest access from the outside door below the deck.
Interaction with Guests
We're super busy so we'll probably do a meet and greet initially and I'll text you when I need to pop down and do laundry but will try and do it while you're gone during the day either working or out discovering Portland.
We are generally up 7:00am and lights out at 10:pm. You'll hear us a bit upstairs walking around and the occasional neighborhood dog barking but it's pretty quiet...we've had the best experiences with guests who are on similar work/school schedules.
The West Slope Neighborhood is very safe and friendly, lots of walkers in the morning and evenings.
Location is an easy 5 miles to downtown Portland and also very convenient to Beaverton area. Not a bad walk to the bus stop, my sons do it each weekday to get to high school downtown. Having your own vehicle is easiest for sure.
Parking your car is safe and a spot is available on left hand side of driveway.
Super close, about a mile, to HWY 26 and also HWY 217.
Bus 58 is at the bottom of the hill, it's a mile walk down and a long mile back up because we are on a hill, but it takes you right into downtown Portland (5miles) going East or Beaverton (1mile) going West. You can also park at the bottom of the hill and take the bus.
We also live very close and have neighborhood access to the Highway 26 Bike Path.
Other Things to Note
We are out and about most of the day but you might hear footsteps upstairs occasionally when we're home.
~no smoking (anything)
~please be respectful of nighttime hours :~)
~one person only
~no pets, sorry
Friendly and drama free household. We've had the best success with guests who are on somewhat "normal" weekday work/school hours...especially during the school year. Generally, we're lights out at 10ish at the latest and 11ish on weekends...and up at 6:30. Definitely not the ideal place to stay for the night owls or the party types but it works for us and those who choose to stay here...
The daylite basement is very private. The space has it's own, separate entrance...guests have been able to utilize the kitchenette for all meals...we've had several people stay for over a month and were very comfortable. Occasionally, I need to come down and do laundry and I'll send a text to coordinate with you on that.
Hope to hear from you!
