  • The host, Ana María, was great. She was always kind and helpful, if questions asked. My experience was good; internet speed was great (which is strange in Lima as far as I can tell), cleanliness and coziness factors also good. Hot water in the shower; the room was spacious and had enough room for clothes (closet and dresser). The neighborhood, however, was not very pretty and I was a little disappointed about that. It is close to the main park in Barranco, and close to the metropolitano bus line, so technically speaking the place is very well located (very well). But the neighborhood is a little noisy and not pleasant to look at or walk in. But Anita's house is very nice. The backyard is beautiful and it feels like an oasis. So all's basically great, with the exception of the neighborhood. But if you don't plan to spend too much time in the house, then it's a perfect place to stay!

  • I spent one lovely month at Ana Maria's home in Barranco and can recommend it! The place is beautiful, very clean, the water is hot, in the kitchen you find everything you need and the patio is a great place to work or just hang out. Ana Maria really cares about her guests and will take you to the places you are looking for, help you with anything and even let you try the fruits she bought. The street can be a bit noisy at night - but for me this didnt cause any problems. If you want to get a taste of beautiful Barranco off the tourist spots and at the same be well connected to the Metropolitano, this place is a good choice!

  • After a long flight, customs and a taxi driver who got lost at midnight there was little as comforting as Ana Maria's warm hug and beautifully decorated home. Her home is brightly colored, filled with plants and seashells and photographs that make it both home-like and well decorated. The bed is comfortable, everything is immaculately clean, she has fresh towels waiting, and you're welcome to use her kitchen. Ana Maria gave us detailed directions, recommended places to eat, and even walked us to the bus stop we needed. We spent two out of our three nights in Lima relaxing with candles and a bottle of wine on her patio. The neighborhood Barranca itself is incredibly hit, with beautiful murals throughout the city, the beach is a short walk away, there's flowers blooming everywhere, and even pianos in public parts in case a passerby knows how to play. Plenty of coffee shops, local bakeries, organic restaurants, mom-pop-holes-in-the-wall, fancy joints, and even a beer-garden. The streets are safe to wander at any time of day or night, and everyone is friendly. Ana Maria herself is very approachable but gives you your privacy, cheerful, and feels like you're visiting your grandmother. Only the best impressions of our stay - would recommend to everyone!

P.S. If you're not a fan of tourist-mobs, stay well away from Mira Flores. We really didn't like our venture there. Barranca is the place to be.

  • What can I say...we spent three months in Peru and Ana Maria's house was our home away from home, our base in the Lima area. Ana Maria is a great host and someone we consider a friend. She has a beautiful house that is comfortable and welcoming. The Barranco neighbourhood is, I believe, the best place to stay in Lima. I totally recommend staying with Ana Maria!

  • a lovely family home in a fantastic location. Ana-maria and her son Armando will do anything they can to help your stay, and if you don't speak much spanish, Armando is only a phone call away that Ana-maria is happy to make.
Comfortable bed, great place to come and relax after a long day in Lima.

  • Ana was a fantastic host, and I highly recommend staying with her in Lima! Her place was clean and extremely accommodating down to the extra touches in the bathroom (extra shampoo, robe etc.). She even helped my husband by walking us to the bus stop and giving us the inside information on using the system. iMUCHAS GRACIAS ANA, MUCHO GUSTO!

  • We had a great time at Ana Marias home.
The room was nice with a huge closet/wardrobe. The shared bathroom was clean as every other place and room in the house.
Ana Maria is very helpful and kind, so for us it was a perfect place to stay.

  • Ana Marias house is cosy and clean. We loved to drink our coffee in the lovely patio. The neighborhood is safe and colorful, grocery store and bus stop (metropolitan) are near, only 2min walk. The beach and the center of Barranco is just 5-10 min walk away. Ana Maria is super sweet and she really did everything that we would enjoy our stay. We don´t speak lots of spanish, but Ana Maria´s son handled everything. And very quickly by the way... :) He extended our stay one night more and booked also taxis from airport and to Oltursa bus stop. We recommend highly the stay at Ana Maria´s home. Lovely place and lovely host!
