The Kottage sits on 26 lovely wildflower covered acres near Round Top, Texas. It has been loving restored with touches of days gone by including wood from the original German settlers house. It has a comfortable front porch and rocking chairs to view the prairie and watch the wildlife. A full kitchen, dining room , and living room greet our guests as they enter. The Kottage has 3 bedrooms and 2 1/2 bathrooms and can sleep 8 comfortably. Great for a family or small group getaway.

The space
The Kottage is situated so you can enjoy the morning sun from the front porch and watch for wildlife on this restored portion of the tall grass prairie.You can take the paths to wander down to the stocked pond and feed the fish if you like. We also have very friendly cattle you can safely feed and they always enjoy treats.

This is a lovely area away from the main roads yet only 10 minutes to Round Top, Texas where you can shop for antiques and curios as well as eat in wonderful restaurants. The world famous Festival Hill Institue is also located in Round Top with concerts almost year round.The Winedale Historical Center gives you a glimpse into the life and times of the early Texas settlers and it is only a mile down Winedale Road from the Kottage.

HI, We are Eric & Deborah Kolber, we live here in Washington County, the birthplace of Texas in a lovely area that used to be a village called Winedale. Now there are renovated buildings that show you what life was like in the late 1800's and is part of the University of Texas museum system.
