Welcome to Cataract Falls Holiday Hill Lodge at the entrance to the Indiana state recreation area. In a one minute walk from the lodge you will be standing at the overlook of the most spectacular waterfall in the Midwest. The lodge itself has three individual units, each with its own unique design features. This unit, Parkview, is at the center of the lodge with windows spanning the length of the unit overlooking your private outdoor recreation space and park entrance.

The space
The Space itself is an open concept design. The full size kitchen is open to the great room for family activity and dining. At the far end of the open space is a Murphy bed and entrance to the bedroom. In the event you have a party of 5 , a roll out cot is provided upon request. Outside is a private patio with gas grill that overlooks the entrance to the park. Bring a stack of wood and a bottle of wine and unwind beside a campfire while listening to the falls in the background.

Other things to note
The lodge in itself is a luxury stay in a small country town in Indiana. You will enjoy the luxury but it’s the experience of the Park and activity you share with your loved ones and friends that you will remember most. Explore the park. Take a hike along the shoreline between the lower and upper falls. Don’t be afraid to get wet, dry cloths are a short distance away. Go behind the falls for a memory that lasts a lifetime. Visit the General Store the oldest ongoing General Store in the Country. Be prepared to fill you car with interesting gifts for those back home. Then wonder over to the old schoolhouse for an ice cream. The Lodge is centrally located by several State Parks and recreation areas. Visit them all if you have time. Make the most of your trip and breath a different air. In the evening you can sit by a campfire with the soothing sounds of crackling wood and waterfalls in the distance. Wether your stay is all that or just a place to go and get away and read a book, our hope is that your stay will be all that you hoped it would be and more.

Neighborhood highlights

I consider the entire town to include the State Park as our neighborhood. There are a few neighbors in the area all of which are great people and are aware of the lodge and what it is. This includes the Park Staff and owners of the General Store and Schoolhouse. All good people. I’m privileged to be a part of this community. There is a chance you get to meet my friend David. He participated in the Special Olympics and is the local celebrity. He has lived in Cataract all his life and was instrumental in making the lodge what it is today.

My work: I own an Art Gallery
Favorite song in high school: Stairway to Heaven.
In 1987 I had the good fortune of playing in the Pan American Games held in Indianapolis. It was that tournament that qualified my team to compete In the 1988 Olympic Games in the sport of Team Handball. I wrote in my diary the day before leaving Indianapolis that I felt as if I would live in this city some day. So here I am, since 1989. Love it!!! The Park Ave. property is my first for the AirBnB market. If it’s all about location as they say in the business, this spot is truly in the hottest spot in the city. The moment I saw it I knew what it was meant to be. To be Shared by many and welcome to all. Hope to have you as a guest and welcome you to our great city.
