Cambra, Vouzela, Portugal
Cambra is a friendly village, at the foot of the Caramulo mountain range. It maintains, for the most part, its agricultural activity, using the beds of the Alfusqueiro and Couto rivers, fresh and clean, where trout is still fished.
It is surrounded by greenery of unique beauty, where we can still find herds of sheep and goats grazing in the fields at dawn.
At night, you can hear the river running and the frogs. All this under a starry sky and a golden silence, perfumed by the broom.
It dates back to medieval times, where the Roman bridge and the medieval tower still remain. It is one of the oldest villages in the country, with its very old Mother Church, and of a unique beauty.
This village is just a seven-minute drive from Oliveira de Frades and 12 minutes from Vouzela, the municipality to which it belongs. The thermal baths of S. Pedro do Sul, a wellness spa center, bathed by the Vouga River, are 20 minutes away.
It also has some typical restaurants, where you can taste the famous roast veal à Lafões. And of course a Dão wine to drink and cry for more!
This is not complete without the famous Vouzela pastry, filled with egg cream, or some perfect caladinhos for breakfast with goat cheese.
