Description

The space

This charming studio surrounded by gardens and tucked away from the street is part of the house I'm living in all year around. The studio has its own entrance on the garden level. It is small with 7 ft ceilings but comfortable with a Tatami futon bed that sleeps 2, a big desk, dressers and shelves, and a large French door to the garden area with lemon tree, roses, chairs and table. The bathroom is with shower. The kitchen area features a small fridge, microwave, coffee machine, hot water heater and toaster. It is great for breakfast and snacks - not for cooking elaborate meals, leave that to the fabulous restaurants near by.

About 20 steps lead up from the street to the garden room and Tall people be aware that a 6ft beam connects bedroom and kitchen area.

The neighborhood is one of the most sought after for its culinary adventures - Tartine Bakery, Delfina, Limon, Farina, Loló - all in walking distance. Dolores Park, with a wide variety of weekend entertainment and all kinds of people soaking up the fun and the sun, is half a block away.

Public transportation, streetcar, buses and BART will take you to downtown in 15 min. and to the airport in 30 min.

Guest access

Guests are welcome to use the patio.

Interaction with guests

Once a week we will do some cleaning on request and take out garbage for Thu morning pick-up.

The neighborhood

Restaurants, cafés, bars, shops, public transportation, cinemas and the very popular Dolores Park are all very close by. This neighborhood is one of the most attractive of San Francisco

Getting around

BART and MUNI are the 2 public transportation systems mostly used to explore city and Bay Area. Closest BART stations are 24th Street /Mission or 16th St./Mission, both about 15 min by foot. MUNI busses and J train are 3 min away.

Recently retired and with daughters away from home I can offer my cozy garden apartment to travelers coming to this beautiful city and this very attractive neighborhood. My favorite travel destination is Europe where I grew up but now with more time at my hands I will try to explore the rest of the world not just through travel, books, music and films - but also through hosting you.
