Welcome to the Cataract Falls Lodge at the entrance to the state recreation area. A one minute walk from the lodge into the park and you will be standing at the overlook of the most spectacular waterfall in the Midwest. The lodge itself is broken up into three units, each with its own measure of elegance. This unit, Parkside, offers two rooms, 1 bedroom and 1 great room with attached kitchenette. Inquire about renting the entire lodge for a family gathering, and enjoy the park.

The space
The building itself is shared however each unit has its own private space and outside recreation area. In addition to the luxury of its interior features and buildout, outside each Suite there is a 12 x 14 foot private pavilion with gas grill. Bring a stack of wood and a bottle of wine and unwind to a fireside evening while listening to the sound of the falls in the background. If exercise and adventure is your thing, hike or bike the nearby trails. The lodge is located at the center of several State Parks within 45 minutes. Visit them all.

During our stay you will want to visit the Cataract General Store, the oldest surviving General Store in the country. Open from April to December, be sure to let Cathy, the owner, know you are staying at the Lodge and get a free root beer. You will also want to check out the old schoolhouse for an ice-cream. Each of which is just down the street from the lodge but you might want to bring your car because of all the cool stuff you will buy at the General Store.

In 1987 I had the good fortune of playing in the Pan American Games held in Indianapolis. It was that tournament that qualified my team to compete In the 1988 Olympic Games in the sport of Team Handball. I wrote in my diary the day before leaving Indianapolis that I felt as if I would live in this city some day. So here I am, since 1989. Love it!!! The Park Ave. property is my first for the AirBnB market. If it’s all about location as they say in the business, this spot is truly in the hottest spot in the city. The moment I saw it I knew what it was meant to be. To be Shared by many and welcome to all. Hope to have you as a guest and welcome you to our great city.
