I stayed here with 6 of my friends on a road trip down the East Coast. The space was small, but we all easily fit on the bed and blow up mattresses. The host was very helpful and accessible when we got there and needed information regarding parking our cars and getting into the building.
Great location and very helpful host!
Upon arriving, I was happy to meet a host at the door. Paul was working, but the gentleman who helped me was great--he carried my luggage up the stairs and showed me around the little place. It is in a great location and was a lot of fun.
The separate bathroom was a little bit of a challenge for me because I was inclined to lock my door every time I went to the bathroom.
Overall, good experience!
I stayed in Paul's room in Adams Morgan for two months and I very much enjoyed staying in DC. Adams Morgan is a really nice area with a lot of activity, shops, restaurants, playgrounds for the kids and so on. I also used the capital bike-share bicycles every day - they are conveniently close to the apartment. Paul was very helpful and solved any issues quickly. The room is really spacious and the view is wonderful. I enjoyed having kitchen facilities and grocery stores are nearby. However, as others have remarked, the room was dirty and worn down. My wife suffered an asthma attack due to the high level of dust in carpets and furniture. Also i was bothered by mosquitoes and avian lice a couple of times - the latter presumably from the large group of pigeons which reside on the windowsill. Furthermore, the nearby corner of 18th street turns into a block party every Friday and Saturday. Not a problem if your joining in, but it woke me on several occasions when car stereos made the entire building vibrate.
Wer only saw Paul once, but he was nice and helpful. The room was huge, very well located. the facilities were not the most luxury ones, but I assumed we were paying for the location mostly. The bathroom is shared, and tiny.
The internet didn't work well, but in some places in the room you could get enogh signal to check yr email at least.
The apartment is in a good location. It was easy to find. Bus stations in any direction, shops and bars are just a few feet away from Paul’s place. The furnishing of the apartment was okay for a rest of a few days.
Paul was very friendly and polite. The fridge was defect and he changed it next day.
Don’t forget bringing your own towels if you want to rest at this place.
All in all: the apartment and the shared bathroom were not in top shape but for a few days, the location and the price tolerable.
This property is in a great area, on the same block as a supermarket and on the same street as many restaurants. It's a good base, with fairly easy street parking (metererd in the day but free overnight). There's also a laundry on the top floor which was a help. There was a screen projector in our room, which was also fun to watch movies.
This was my first air bnb experience and it was a positive one. Communication was good and Paul's brother Nigel was friendly, welcoming and helpful. The room was spacious, with great views and everything I needed. Thumbs up!
Paul has been very kind with us, even if we've arrived very late the first night. The apt. Is in a marvellous position to visit the city and ti enjoy its life and nightlife.
Very nice space. Owner is courteous and accommodating. The only problem is that finding a parking space is a real challenge. Location is great.
Place was overall a great deal. Spacious and fairly clean loft/bedroom, and Paul was extremely helpful in terms of flexible of checking in/out, and let us keep our luggage there late since we had a late flight. It's in a *great* area--tons of restaurants, bars, and so forth.--and although the nearest metro stop is about .7 miles in either direction, buses make getting there pretty easy. The bathroom is acceptable, but if you're looking for something spacious and/or 'finished,' this may not be for you--small shower with little pressure, hand-towel fixture falling off the wall, etc. There is AC in the room as well, but during our stay there was a heatwave (100 degrees every day), and the room still felt pretty stuffy and hot--probably still 80 degrees or so.
