Please understand that the spring and fall seasons bring a natural influx of both ladybugs and stinkbugs to the Blue Ridge Mountains. Our cabins are professionally treated, regularly, by Orkin Pest Control to control all pests. However, ladybugs and stinkbugs do not currently respond to these treatments. We vacuum them up before you arrive and during your stay if requested; however, we cannot guarantee that they will not be present at times in your cabin. This is a natural event and we are fighting the forces of nature in trying to control them. We cannot issue refunds due to the presence of ladybugs or stinkbugs. Thank you for understanding.
Guests will have access to the entire home without interruption.
Interaction with guests
Guests are invited to contact the owner at any moment, however, check-in is independent. The owner will arrange for the keys to be left for the guests in a lockbox with a code for the guests to pickup the key and let themselves in.
That being said; the owner is available 24/7 by phone. Additionally, the owner will contact the guest via AirBnB messaging, and/or email/phone prior to the guests’s stay to offer information on Nelson County events during the stay, the weather forecast, and information on the check-in/check-out procedure.

Please treat our home as you would treat your own. We love to open our cabins to guests so others may create wonderful memories here as we have. However, if a cabin becomes damaged, it hinders our ability to share the cabin with other guests. Please tidy up prior to your departure by washing all dishes and cooking utensils. Our housekeeper comes by and changes the beds and freshens up between each reservation but please feel free to help by placing the used towels in the bathtub or kitchen sink.
Please remember there is NO SMOKING inside the cabin. Pets are allowed for an additional $25 (PayPal bill can be sent). We also request you please be mindful of neighbors and keep the noise to a minimal after 9:00.
Most importantly- Enjoy yourself! There are so many wonderful options for how to spend your time here. Please take every opportunity to explore this beautiful area and all it has to offer!
Similar to most AirBnB users, I love to travel. I have lived in Turkey, Thailand and Switzerland, however, now I am back home in the States for a few years. I enjoy engulfing myself into the cultures around me. I love hiking, animals, kayaking, rock climbing, music, theater, reading and photography! I pickup new languages well and love to learn about new places and people!
AirBnB has been my favorite app for when I travel. Finding people I enjoy is easy when talking with other hosts! My favorite thing about acting as a host on AirBnB is talking with my guests and sharing tips of places to go and things to see and hearing how they enjoyed themselves!
My parents, Vickie and Richard are new to AirBnB and have just recently started hosting their home to guests. They are lovely people who also enjoy traveling and have many great stories about their adventures! They host our properties in Paeonian Springs, Virginia.
