British Adventure decorated UPSTAIRS VIEW room with queen sized bed and individual size futon sofa sleeper. Your designated, private full bathroom with shower is just down the hallway and reserved just for you (no en suite bathroom). No closet.

This smaller, basic room has a fun theme with Union Jack flag and aviator / airplane decor! Kitchen shared with other guests (bring groceries). High, angled ceiling with quiet ceiling fan.

The space
This is our favorite spot in the house! This upstairs, indoor balcony room is a magical spot for a "world traveler sleepover" with eclectic aviation, explorer and Union Jack British flag decor.

You will love the super high, angled ceiling and large, second story window with sunrise views and sweeping vista of distant plateaus (part of the red rock layer of the Grand Staircase Escalante).

The room is quite simple and basic, with just enough room for a comfy queen sized bed (our firmest, with a memory foam topper added!), a dresser, and an individual sized futon sofa sleeper (let us know if you would like us to make up the sofa into a bed with extra padding, pillows and bedding)!

If you crack the window at night then you will hear (quite loud!) songbirds at dawn (you might also occasionally hear other guests coming in late or leaving early, as this room overlooks our front door and driveway parking area).

One of the best features of this room is the noiseless ceiling fan with BEDSIDE CONTROLS for lights and fan (turn the fan power up, down, or off without getting out of bed).

LOCATION: Kanab, Utah is considered "The Heart Of the Parks" because of our central location! We are in the middle between several parks and destinations. We are situated 1 to 1.5 hours from:

•Zion national park
•Bryce Canyon national Park
•Grand Canyon national Park (NORTH rim, open seasonally May 15-Nov 30)
•Page/Lake Powell/Antelope Canyon/Horseshoe Bend

Our home is a welcoming, friendly & considerate environment and we often host multiple sets of guests at once, each in their own designated room. So if you're sociable, conscientious and easy-going, then the British Adventure room in our Burro Flats High Desert Lodge could be great for you!

While there is no clothes closet in this space, there is a dresser for your use.

We also provide in the room:
Hairdryer (in upper dresser drawer)
Facial tissue (Kleenex)
Mirror on wall (not full length)
Plenty of handy electrical outlets
Night lights (unplug if too bright)
Light blocking curtains so you can sleep in if desired

We do provide some breakfast basics, which guests prepare themselves, for a simple start to the day:
Coffee, tea and almond milk
A bread (bagel/English muffin/sliced bread for toast)
Peanut butter, margarine, fruit spread
Dry oatmeal
Fresh whole fruit (apple/banana/orange)
Granola bars or snack bars

The bed is queen sized for two people (the second largest size available in the US). The futon sofa sleeper is individual sized.

The British Adventure room is in the middle of the upstairs. On one end of the upstairs is the Peter Pan room and the stairs to main floor. On the other end is the Cowboy Room, Girly Room and upstairs bathrooms.

We have high speed WiFi Internet at no extra charge and our 2 router boxes ensure that every inch of the house has excellent coverage!

Guests would need to be very quiet (no staying up late talking, streaming video/music, etc) because sound travels from that central area and it would keep all of the other guests awake (we have multiple guest bedrooms). Quiet time starts at 10 pm at night MST (Mountain Standard Time)

BATHROOMS: You have a designated, private, full bathroom that's assigned to your room. It's in the hallway on the same floor as your room (but not right in your room, you'll have to leave your room and walk down the hall to get to your bathroom). Your bathroom contains:

Vanity (mirror, sink, countertop)
Basic toiletries: Toilet paper, facial tissue, hand soap, liquid body wash, shampoo, conditioner, towels, washcloths, hand towel

There is also a half bathroom (toilet, no shower) on the main floor for everyone to take turns using, so that it's not necessary to go upstairs to use a toilet when you are hanging out in the shared guest areas.

If you would prefer a private bathroom that's right in the room, then you might check out our Cowboy Room, Girly Room or Master Suite

*Why do we charge an additional persons fee of $8 after the first guest? This fee helps us cover the costs of more toiletries, snacks and food, paper products, etc. being used. It also considers extra hot water for bathing, additional laundry such as towels and such.

This space is suitable for children who are kept safe and supervised. The room has a 2nd story window that, if left open, could be a falling hazard for children.

As with the rest of the house, there is no rough housing, running, rowdy play, etc inside.

A note on reviews: The first 14 reviews for this listing was before it was an enclosed, doored sleeping area and was a non-private loft. We have recently remodeled to make this space still amazing, but now with privacy and built in ceiling fan.

Where you’ll be

Kanab, Utah, United States

We live in a rural part of town and you will often see jackrabbits, quail and other wildlife on or just beyond our property.

Grocery stores and restaurants are just 5 minutes DRIVE away in the center of our quaint, Western town (we live on the outskirts of Kanab).

If you're outside at dusk during the warmer months, then there's a good chance that friendly bats will swoop near to check you out! And once night has settled in, the stars will amaze you with their number and brightness. The Milky Way is usually visible (as long as the moon doesn't steal the show)!

The house sits on 3 acres with open land behind as far as the eye can see.

Plus you'll be only about an hour from Zion, Bryce, north rim of Grand Canyon (open seasonally), Lake Powell/Page/Antelope Canyon.

Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, the country's largest, is only 20 minutes away and they offer free tours daily (you'll want to call ahead to book a tour).

Hi! We're Nicholas & Celeste Meyeres, and our home that we share with visitors is Burro Flats High Desert Lodge! We adore the Southwestern high desert, nature, wildlife and meeting new people! This is Nicholas’ full-time, as well as dream job! Before welcoming guests in our home, he was a manager at a top rated country club in Kansas for 6 years, but Kanab is where he plans to live forever! Celeste is a knits designer who has created over 6,000 scarves, throw blankets, etc by hand: Including a shawl for Stevie Nicks of Fleetwood Mac. She owns CricketsKnits (ask if you're curious to see her "yarn dungeon" basement studio during your stay!). In 2013 we bought a huge home on 3 acres with nothing but open country and spacious views behind (and GREAT wifi connection!). This home and location makes us feel so happy and free and that is why we love to share it with visitors :) We live in the downstairs of the three level house (the 2nd largest in Kanab), with separate kitchen, bathroom, et cetera, so you'll mainly only see us at check in and check out (when we welcome you and then when we say "Bon voyage, see you next time!") Unless, of course, you'd like to ask questions, get directions or just chat; we're here for you at *your* level of comfort. :) We welcome responsible, easy-going guests of all ages, language, culture, heritage and lifestyle. Unless you reserve the entire upper two floors, you will most likely be interacting with other guests in our home during your stay; this is a friendly and social environment with everyone being considerate and cohabiting peacefully. Our home has a sort of super nice hostel feel, or like a B&B except with a DIY, bare-bones breakfast. :)

We live in a separate apartment downstairs on the lower level of the house. You'll usually see us at check-in, sometimes at check-out and occasionally in the guest areas as we clean, answer questions or pass through.
