Welcome to my North Portland garden home. I am centrally located in one of Portland's oldest neighborhoods in North Portland - Overlook- NoPo.
You will be walking distance to both the North Mississippi and North Killingsworth business/arts districts and 5 minutes drive to the Alberta Arts neighborhood. Downtown PDX is just 10 minutes by car. You will have easy access to public transportation both Max train and bus and highways I-5 and 84.
Groceries -easy - A short Max/ train ride to New Seasons at Arbor Lodge or walk on over to Cherry Sprout on N. Albina street for local fresh produce and a great assortment of wines.
For dining and shopping, a short walk around the corner to Killingsworth and many options - The Hop and Vine mixes a good cocktail to enjoy while waiting for dinner to be served. Food carts are located at the end of the block where you can grab ice cream from Scoop - or Sushi at Mio's. After dinner stroll the Overlook bluff for sunset.
Or head over to either the Mississippi Arts or N. Williams district for amazing choices of great restaurants ( my favs Tasty & Sons, Lincoln and Interurban), cafes, shops and music venues.
My home is 2 bedrooms with 2 full baths - claw foot soaking tub in the upstairs master bath. Cozy living and dining room for gathering friends or napping after a meal in front of the fire. The house was re-built in 1998 and maintains all historic charm with unique reclaimed wood throughout.
You will be able to enjoy outdoor dining all year with tables in the front and back gardens for you to choose which mood is best (when raining stay on the covered lighted porch). And the fire pit for after dinner marshmallow roasting or star gazing.
Internet available and ample parking for cars or bikes.
Consider this your home away from home. Vinny and Sal (the cats) will welcome you with a purrrrrrrrr.
Please include information about yourself when you make an inquiry. Thanks for checking my site and feel free to email me any questions you have. I look forward to welcoming you soon.
When the house is not rented out, the owner and her son live here - with vinny and sal.

Leave no trace - treat my home as your own - no indoor smoking.
Danielle and her place was great! She was easy to communicate with, her home was cute, comfortable, clean, and quiet - in a nice neighborhood with markets nearby, and her cats were just adorable.
My stay at the Mississippi Arts NoPo Garden Home could not have been better. There was ample space for all four of us in Danielle's beautiful and eclectic home. She kindly placed an additional mattress for us in a downstairs room that served as a third bedroom. Both bathrooms were lovely. One offers a good shower and the other offers a nice bath with a hand held shower fixture. The cats were extremely friendly and easy to care for, and Danielle is very clear about them up front. The house is in a sweet neighborhood within walking distance of stores, restaurants and public transportation. I would definitely stay here again!
I loved staying here! It was great to have the extra space while in town with my mother & daughter. The home has a goddesses touch, is well put together & comfortable.
We had a wonderful experience. Danielle communicated with us from the beginning to provide all the information we could need. She wasn't going to be there on our arrival, but went out of her way to meet our son who lives close by to do a walk through of the house before our visit. She provided very detailed room by room information to us ahead of time on the house so we were well prepared for our visit. Her home is warm and inviting, well equipped for anything you need. The front porch is perfect for morning coffee, and the back gardens lovely for an afternoon glass of wine. There are several great restaurants within easy walking distance, as well as the max. It's a perfect location. Sal and Vinny became members of our family. If the house is available for our next trip to Portland, we would definitely book it again.
We had a fantastic stay at Danielle's home. The house is immaculate and beds super comfy. Danielle was not around when we stayed but she was in contact with us before and during our stay and made us feel very well cared for,
The location is great! It's very residential but also close to great restaurants and cafes and the best grocery store EVER, New Seasons.
I would highly recommend staying here!
This home was the perfect base for our week in Portland. Danielle's home is clean, warm, inviting, artsy, comfortable and such a great place to relax and unwind.
We enjoyed cooking meals in the well-stocked kitchen and dining on the front porch. Danielle was easy to coordinate with before our visit and a delight to meet in person. She provided a detailed house manual before our visit, which was also helpful.
We are cat people so it was a bonus for us to stay in a home with resident cats. The home is an easy four-block walk to the MAX yellow line, which I used to get downtown for the conference I was attending. All around we had a great time staying in Danielle's home and it made us love Portland even more. We hope to return again.
I strongky recommend working with Danielle and staying at her North Portland home when visiting Portland, Oregon. The charm and comfort of the home is extraordinary; a beautiful, clean, quiet, and well-equipped nome. The neighborhood is very walkable. There is a charming Italian bakery 2 blocks away for coffee, breakfast, and snacks. You will be 4/10 mile from public transit, minutes from the convention center or any downtown location. We were immediately at ease in the home, and that comfort increased daily. No one wanted to leave! Finally, if you are a cat lover, two charming feline housekeepers will keep you endlessly enchanted. Yes, I think enchanting is the best word to sum up the experience.
I am a licensed Acupuncturist and active single Mom. My 14 year old son and i enjoy skiing in the Winter up on the amazing Mt Hood. We like to run ( a few 5k's ), bike through the neighborhoods and rails to trails. Hiking in the Gorge and surrounding areas take us to magical waterfalls in the Spring. Summer months we are busy building sandcastles and boogie boarding at the Oregon coast or Sauvies Island. A paddle or float on a nearby river is a great way to spend a summer day here in Portland. We love lazy rainy Sundays at home and walking to the carts for a late afternoon ice cream treat.
You will be able to do all this and more from our cozy home
