I would highly recommend Faith and staying in this apartment. The location is superb (about 1 mile walk to the Max, right off Burnside where there is tons to do, and very easy to grab a bus if you need to get downtown). The place was clean and I felt right at home. Having a kitchen was great if you are the type to want to keep a few food items on hand. Also, having more than just a bedroom is really nice to have as well. Although we didn't spend a ton of time inside, it was comfortable to have a living room area, full bath, and large bedroom to share between the 2 of us. The check in/check out process was a cinch! I am certain next time I'm back in the area, I will be using airbnb again, and hopefully I'm able to stay with Faith again!
We had a great stay at this apartment following the annual Seattle to Portland bike ride. There was enough room in the vestibule to store our bikes. There's an air-conditioner in the bedroom which was very helpful for the 90-degree heat we were experiencing (the living room, in which one of our group was sleeping on the futon, does not have an air-conditioner but is equipped with a fan).
This apartment had everything we needed for our short stay in Portland and was an easy 20-minute walk to downtown, or a much shorter bus ride. We were able to get around without any trouble and were within walking distance of various Portland breweries.
We (a couple with two small children, ages 5 and 4) stayed at Faith's apartment for one night in July en route from Central Oregon to Seattle. Faith's apartment is 'cute and bright' and centrally located in the Hawthorne neighbourhood (which is a bit 'edgy' with small children but probably fun if you're unencumbered and in the 20 - 30 age range). The apartment is above a 'commercial space' which turned out to be a cannabis bar, which was a little unexpected, but did not cause major problems (and generated a bit of interest back home where 'dope' is still very much verboten). I found the apartment adequate though it was obvious that no one actually lived there and that this was a commercial activity rather than a 'home'. If passing through Portland again, we would choose a different neighbourhood more tailored to our needs as a young family but no specific complaints regarding this accommodation.
This apartment was everything we needed for our stay in Portland - spacious living and bedroom, kitchen, nicely cooled by air-conditioner in the midst of hot weather.
The neighborhood is historic and near lots of fun restaurants and cafes. The apartment is right above a cannabis store and there were quite a few homeless people sleeping on streets nearby, but those would be my only caveats for the location. Parking is pretty easy to find on the streets if you have a car.
We enjoyed our stay and it was smooth and easy. We'd recommend this place!
Our two nights here were comfortable and easy - we'd recommend it to others.
Our stay with Faith was simply perfect, her itinerary/house rules email was incredibly detailed and because of that we never had any issues or confusion with things like parking, Internet, keys etc. Faith was insist to communicate with and very responsive to any questions that arose. We only stayed at her place for one night but it was a great central location for exploring downtown and going out to local bars at night. Portland is a beautiful city and we're glad we had a place to stay as convenient as this one.
Faith was extremely friendly and very responsive to our needs. When we needed something changed in the apartment, she took care of it right away. The apartment is in a quiet part of town, but public transportation to the downtown area is very accessible. We enjoyed our stay!
