We are very enjoy stay in Amy's place. The location is so great that we can walk to the beach in few minutes. There were many great place to eat nearby in little Italy. The apartment is really clean, neat and comfortable. I recommend to stay at this place and will definitely be back. BTW, checking in and and checking out by ourselves were interesting.
Amy's apartment was just as beautiful as the photos! We loved the character of the house and the beautiful high ceilings and wood floors. It was perfectly clean and we found everything we needed for the stay. The location was perfect!! We could walk to the Gaslamp district and it was just a short drive from Balboa Park, the marina, and all the shopping and sightseeing we wanted to do. There are fantastic restaurants just a few blocks away! Amy was quick to respond about our reservation and provided all the information we needed about the apartment. She also left a wonderful notebook with info about local sights and attractions. It was a wonderful stay overall and I would definitely stay here again if I come back to San Diego!
Amy's apartment is lovely. Very clean and comfortable, beautifully presented. I was in town on business and so didn't spend a lot of time in the immediate neighborhood but it was an easy walk to the Gaslamp district and convention center. Would definitely stay here again.
We very much enjoyed our stay. There was a small snafu with scheduling of maintenance, but the work was done quickly while we were there and Amy was very communicative with us when the problem occurred. It was cleaning out the drain in the shower and that did improve drainage for the rest of our stay, so that was a nice silver lining.
The neighborhood was great. We ended up renting bikes and were able to explore a lot of the city without a car; we biked all the way out to Ocean beach on the west side and all the way in and around Balboa park on the east. It was a bit difficult with some of the hills, but it was a nice offset to the rich foods and margaritas we consumed during our stay. We ended up renting a car the final day (mostly for storage of luggage before our flight) and were surprised at the cost of parking, so that reinforced our decision to make it mostly a car-less visit. Other nights we just walked down to the gaslamp district and were easily able to get groceries and dine at some fun restaurants.
The only caution I would have for future guests is that this is an old victorian house. I used to rent a similarly partitioned one in Austin. If there are people staying in the upstairs apartment, any movement will be amplified to the folks down below. It wasn't bad for us and the folks staying above were gone most of the time, but this could be disruptive if the people staying upstairs were more active or around more.
Other than that, it was a pleasant stay and we really enjoyed having a good home base in San Diego. If you're looking for accessibility and comfortable lodging, this will be a good choice for you (and possibly more people than we had, it could comfortably sleep 4, we only had 2).
The host was very responsive and answered all my questions right away. This was a no hassle, everything gone well experience. This IS run as a business though, and you won't get to see the host, not that this matters much. The house was clean and newly refurbished as claimed in the listing. The beds are pretty comfortable, and there is just enough kitchen-ware to get along. All in all, no issues and easy to talk to host make this an "I definitely recommend it to a friend" listing. Parking is free on Sunday, and 2-hour limit between 8am and 6pm. The area is normal, it's not very impressive, but you CAN easily walk to the cool parts of town.
This place was beautiful and in a great location. It was also very clean. I originally had a few questions and Amy responded promptly. Everything was pretty perfect aside from a couple of things. Parking is difficult. Pay close attention to the signs on the parking poles in front of the house re: times and street cleaning days. We got a $50 ticket because we parked there on a street cleaning day. The pullout couch is tough to sleep on. I tried to put our teenager on it the first night and she couldn't even sleep there due to the springs being so prominent.
Although the apartment was very nice, it was infested with FLEAS! We contacted Amy about this and she very promptly called in the pest control people. Apparently the fleas do not die instantly and we were bitten throughout out stay. Amy offered us a discount on our stay but unfortunately this has not appeared, which is very disappointing. Although the circumstances were some what out of control of the host, a little more effort in providing the promised compensation would have gone some way to overcome the discomfort we suffered.
Great apartment with easy access to restaurants and bars. Overall, we had a very nice stay and comfortably fit 4 people on 2 beds and a pullout. For some reason the pass codes didn't show up on my phone, but that was an issue with airbnb's app and not the host, who was very responsive. Plenty of towels, sheets, etc. and the kitchen was well stocked.
Amy provided a very clean and comfortable space that was spacious enough for our family of four. Amy provided all necessary information to ensure a smooth check-in. The location was in close proximity to all that we wanted to see and do while on vacation. We would definitely stay here again!
We had a great time in San Diego and I would definitely stay again at Amy's apartment. Everything was wonderful and we immediately felt at home. Great location and convenient to get around in downtown San Diego.
