Carroll Gardens is one of the most charming neighborhoods in Brooklyn and our home is one one of the quietest blocks with wonderful parks nearby, and the oft written about shopping boutiques and restaurants of Smith and Court Streets just minutes from the front door. Carroll Park with it's popular children's play area is three blocks away.
We have two separate rooms available with private bath in a modern, renovated 1864 carriage house - it's a single family home located on a super quiet, tree-lined block. At night it's rare to hear anything and you'll wake up to the sound of birds (website hidden)ing in the tree branches in the front garden.
It's a quick one and a half blocks to trendy Smith Street's restaurant row, bars and shops and 2 minutes walk to the F train, ten to the R train. Soho is 15 minutes away by F-train. It's a lovely 25 minute walk through Cobble Hill and historic Brooklyn Heights to the Brooklyn Bridge or east through Park Slope to Prospect Park. Our home is in a safe, diverse neighborhood with young families, singles and retirees who gather on their stoops for a chat.
The two rooms are adjacent one another on the second floor and one or both are available depending upon your needs. Each room has a twin bunk bed and the larger room has it's own seating area, TV with Netflix & Wii and computer. The smaller room is sized mainly for sleeping. Both rooms have air conditioning and the house has steam heat in the winter. The set up is perfect for friends, solo travelers or couples who, ahem, like a bit of quiet at night away from a snoring partner. Families with children will enjoy the playful space. You'll have your own private, full sized bathroom with tub shower in the hallway. It's more like staying in a country cottage than being in the middle of a busy city.
We're very easy going, have a clean and creative home and our interests are eclectic. We love Brooklyn and NYC and are happy to help you with suggestions for visiting some of the locals-only sights. There is surprisingly easy street parking on our block for those of you driving in. Also available: wifi, internet, cable and a lovable terrier mutt, Roxy. Roxy is very good with kids and people of all sizes. Breakfast and tea or coffee included if requested. For families traveling with kids - there is no charge for children who sleep with you or in a pack-n-play. If they need a bed of their own, please include them in your guest count. The rooms sleep 4, total.

Highly recommended. Clean and cozy with fresh crisp linens. Lovely hosts. Fantastic neighborhood right near subway and great restaurants.
Elizabeth and Jeff were wonderful hosts! The rooms are as described, and it was very easy to organize check in and check out. The house is convenient to the F train, and all of the shops and restaurants in Carroll Gardens, including the new Brooklyn Whole Foods, which is a 5 minute walk from the house. Elizabeth and Jeff are very friendly and helpful but not overbearing. Roxy is a sweet dog who will want to be your friend. Although I stayed there on my own, it would be an especially great place for traveling with children. If you are tall, check in with the hosts before reserving -- the bunk beds were perfect for me (5'2"), but they might be a tight fit for someone tall. Overall, a great place, thank you!
We had a great stay at Elizabeth and Jeff's house. My mom and I stayed in the bottom bunks in two separate rooms and used the larger room as a sitting room. This would probably not be a good situation for very tall people but it worked well for us. The second room is tiny but comfortable and gets great light. The bathroom was clean, the beds were great, everything was the same as pictured and Elizabeth and Jeff were lovely hosts. Roxy is very sweet too. Carroll Gardens is a great neighborhood -- their house is on a quiet residential street but it's very close to restaurants, bars and cafes and the F/G station on Smith.
Had a very nice stay with Elizabeth and Jeff. Accommodations were brightly colored and clean, and the 4 of us in our party had a pleasant stay. Elizabeth even made some muffins one morning which we had a chance to partake in--thanks! Nice dog. Very good Greek restaurant down the street and around the corner.
Elizabeth and Jeff were friendly and wonderful to chat with. They have a beautiful house in a very nice area. I would definitely recommend them if you need a places to stay in NY.
Elizabeth and Jeff were wonderful hosts and are a super friendly couple. The rooms were cozy and comfortable and the location is in a great part of Brooklyn!
Elizabeth and Jeff were great. I stayed there with my two kids (6yrs old and 1.5) and the bunk beds were perfect. The space was kid friendly. Their dog was so sweet. While she is three times as big as my daughter, her mild nature allowed my 1.5 year old to walk with ease around her. Elizabeth and Jeff were also extremely flexible with their kitchen and all accommodations we needed. I would definitely recommend them and return myself.

Elizabeth and Jeff hosted my wife and our one-year-old daughter for three nights while they were in the city apartment-hunting in Manhattan. It was a perfect airBNB experience! The room was beautiful, spacious and clean, plus very quiet and private, and Elizabeth and Jeff (and their dog!) were charming and generous hosts. It was very close to the subway (only a few blocks from the F line) so getting around the city was a breeze. Very highly recommended!
Elizabeth and Jeff were excellent hosts! Renting a room in a home was a new experience for us, we generally let an entire apartment. Elizabeth and Jeff helped our new foray develop into a lovely and pleasant stay. Their carriage house is charming and perfectly located in Carroll Gardens. The subway taking you to Manhattan is two blocks away, and there are fabulous places to eat right down the street for any meal you would want. Elizabeth and Jeff were very friendly, (Roxy the pup as well!) they chatted and gave great recommendations but were also not intrusive and allowed us relative freedom as guests. For a quiet and cosy stay in New York, we highly recommend!
