i had to cancel several appointments personally during their stay, as i expect my B&B-guests to go out for the day and do not want to leave guests unattended - it IS by all means, still my private house and i do not lock doors to private spaces. my cleaner came and had to be paid, as i had to send her away as jade and katie were still asleep and i did not want to bother them. about jade leaving: i was taken by surprise, as she asked for my cancellation policy, which i did not understand. so i asked what was happening. my answer might not have been what jade wanted to hear, but honestly - i have in almost TEN years of running my B&B, NEVER had a cancellation during a stay. about allergy: my house is surrounded by pollen producing trees/plants, i suggested to jade i would have advised her (having known) to book a place nearer the dutch coast. i suffer very badly from a pollen allergy myself. and my wifi took a bad habit of disconnecting during her stay, so she could not have done her work, if wanted. problem is solved now.
