Our cool and comfortable one bedroom apartment has a perfect location in Marseille! It comfortably fits two and is centrally located, just two blocks from the Catalan beach. Enjoy a fish market in the 'Old Harbor', a synny beach, and easy access
This recently renovated apartment in the 7th district of Marseille is close to all the shops and restaurants right in between the Vieux-port and the beach la Plage des Catalans. Bus and railway station are nearby. You will be close to the Vieux Port (3 minutes away) where you can find a fish market, many restaurants, nightclubs and bars and from where you can take a boat to visit famous islands (Frioul, etc). Palace du Pharo & Notre Dames basilica are just around the corner. It is a fantastic location with over 36 positive-5* reviews.
The main room features a new double sofa bed and the kitchen is connected to the main room via a service hatch and two high bar-chairs that many of our guests appreciated for a very comfortable breakfast . The apartment can accommodate comfortably up to 2 adults, suit solo or couple. (Same sex couples welcome).
Kitchen with refrigerator, ceramic hob and oven, bathroom with separate toilet and shower. Towels are included (not beach towels). No animals allowed and smoking is allowed only in the balcony. A washing machine is available to use (only on request).
You may be able to park your car for free in front of the apartment, but mostly places are occupied. There is, though, a private parking not too far away. The street is calm, you might hear cars pass or the cleaning services on the street in the morning, but it is not a disturbing noise.
Television with HD channels and internet are available although I believe you will not need this, because there is so much to do in Marseille and the surrounding! (the internet connection is a 1MB speed, you will be able to check emails, book a ticket or even download up o 100Kb/s).
The Endoume neighborhood is known for being a very safe district in Marseille. Also it is located just at the begining of the middle of the triangle Vieux-Port*Catalan Beach*Notre Dame Basilica

Perfect location to visit Marseille. Merci Bilel.
We decided to go to Marseille not more than 10 hours before departing and Bilel was really helpfull and easygoing in organizing our stay during holiday days, with such a last minute decision!!!!
The apartment is in a perfect area of the city, very central but calm. The city is wonderful, we spent there the last day of the year and it was really great!
The studio is nice - it has a washing machine, stove, coffee maker (I don't think it had a microwave, but I may have missed it - I didn't need one) and a small refrigerator. There is a small grocery store (casino) very nearby. I slept fine there.
There were a couple of negatives, mostly because Bilel didn't meet me at the apartment. Instead, his little sister gave me the keys at the train station. I would make sure he meets you there so you can be shown which building it is, which apartment it is, how to unlock the door (there are three locks!). Also, the wireless is a bit funky because it is the provider "free wifi", and every window on my browser wanted me to login, and then didn't go to the page after doing so. Bilel said I needed to clear my cookies, but it seemed to fix itself after a while, which was good, because I really needed it that night for a job interview over (website hidden).
Anyway, probably all of this confusion could have been cleared up simply by meeting me at the apartment building and showing me how everything worked. Since I just booked it the day before, I guess his schedule didn't allow that.
I should also say that Bilel was very responsive; I had to call him a few times with these problems and he always got back to me right away if I didn't get through.
Indeed Gary booked the night before and arrived at 8pm the next day which is pretty late for a winter time and I had an important diner that day. I have been available on the line all through his journey to the apartment to make sure everything goes well although I were not present. As explained in the description I will be available even for pick ups from the station or the airport as long as I get information of your ETA well in advance.
Gary was able to get his job interview using the internet connexion at the apartment so it works very well as long as you know how to use it. I will provide a manual on how to get the connexion working in the future.
Thanks Gary again for giving this invaluable review so I can work more on accommodating better my lovely future guests !
We had a very good stay at Bilel's apartment. It's clean, well-located and corresponds perfectly to the description on the site. We didn't meet Bilel in person, but he was very responsive and flexible and seemed very friendly. Check-in/check-out went smoothly. The only thing that puzzled us is that we could not find a trash can in the apartment. Otherwise, very satisfied :)
Many thanks Anastasia for your lovely review. It is also very appreciated that you mentioned the trash can! In fact the can got somehow lost or thrown since a day or two before you are arrival and we definitely need to get a brand new one for our future lovely guests. It is always appreciated to get such important feedback from our guests so that we can update and improve our listing! Many thanks again Anastasia and you are very welcome back at anytime soon ;-)
We travelled to Marseille spontaneously and we booked only one day before our stay. Bilel was very quick in answering our request and we were happy to stay at Bilels. It was a convenient location, close to the Old Port and with lots of Restaurants and the small pretty beach of Les Catalans nearby.
Thank you Bilel for your hospitality!
Sabina and Stephan
Bilel was a great host - so responsive and accommodating.
The place is in a great, great location - amazing snack bar downstairs for breakfast, snacks or lunch in particular!
It is fairly clean and has the basics that you need. I would not recommend staying here if you are traveling for work and need to stay in the apartment for long periods due to the inconsistent Internet hotspot.
I had a great stay at Bilel's flat. It was clean, quiet and well-located, exactly as advertised. We did not meet in person, but Bilel was always quick to respond to emails and flexible regarding arrival and departure times. I found him to be a very kind and accommodating host. I would not hesitate to stay at his flat again and neither should you!
This was only my second Airbnb stay, so I'd like to give a disclaimer, up front, that perhaps I don't know how well appointed these places are supposed to be. Bilel's place is conveniently located (and in a safe area), as described! However, his place had no hand soap in the bathroom and no trash receptacles anywhere in the apartment. Also, the wifi issue, which he says in his description that he fixed, is still just as inconvenient as one guest noted in their review -- we had to input the password every time we wanted to use the internet. The place was clean when we arrived and Bilel seemed to be nice over text - though we never met him. I would still recommend it because it is a good value for the price but just be aware that you will have to deal with some annoyances.
Many thanks Margaret for pointing out some elements that you did not appreciate so I can improve them for my beautiful future guests!!
Margaret arrived with her friend really late arround 10pm but we still accommodate her! That is why we could not meet in person, instead my family warmly welcomed her. How would I miss meeting you my guests otherwise!
Soap is provided for the first days then of course if you are staying for a long period of time and when it is finished we cannot come back and forth to fill in the bottle. That is exactly the difference between a hotel and Airbnb! My guests that usually have a common sense buy a piece of soap at the real close supermarquet downstairs, I understand that for the first time in Marseille one could think that Marseille's soap is flowing in fontains everywhere but that is not the case unfortunately.
Regarding the wifi it is really working fine, you are the first guest among my fifty past guests to complain about it! That perhaps means that you did not know how to use it or maybe you were using it the wrong way. The wifi connection is a 1Mb speed ADSL connection exactly what a traveller need to buy a travel ticket or book his next accommodation for the next trip.
Tout s'est très bien passé malgré une réservation à la dernière minute, tout a été fait pour me rendre l'arrivée comme le départ faciles dans cet appartement extrêmement bien situé. Je recommande !
Great location, easy organization, I do recommend !
