Sugar Pine Cabin is part of The Knotty Oak in downtown Philo, walkable to wineries, Jumbo's burger spot, & Lemon's Market. There are 3 bedrooms: a king and a queen bedroom upstairs, and a double bedroom downstairs. There can also a twin added for a fee in the upstairs alcove, just ask. There is a full bathroom on each floor with heated floors. We've also got two other homes on the property (The Homestead & The Schoolhouse) on airbnb. We can also add some twin beds in any house for an added fee.
The space
The Sugar Pine Cabin is part of The Knotty Oak complex and is spacious, warm, inviting, colorful and has unique art and local history with 1920's Anderson Valley High School yearbooks as wallpaper in some rooms. We love celebrating the quirky and unique history Anderson Valley has.
There are three bedrooms in The Sugar Pine Cabin and it sleeps six, plus the ability to put a twin bed either in the master bedroom or in the upstairs hall nook. The additional charge for that is $80 per night including the set up and linens.
In all there are 12 bedrooms at the complex. The original homestead house on the property that sleeps 8 is listed on Airbnb The Knotty Oak - Homestead. We have also have the 3rd house called The Schoolhouse listed with 5 more bedrooms.
We can also add a twin bed or two for additional guests. The cost for that is $80 extra per night, per bed. That covers the setup and linens and cleaning.
The bedrooms are outfitted with Eddie Bauer camp theme sheets (adorable!) , firm and soft pillows, comforters, extra blankets, and soft lighting.
We also have our own private access to Indian Creek which is a gorgeous shady spot, perfect for adults and kids to explore, look for crawdads and fishes, and be in nature.

The kitchen is a cook's dream with:
Thermador Five Star Range-tons of BTU's
1930's vintage fully restored GE fridge
Countertop wine fridge
Cuisinart Toaster
Waffle iron (with waffle mix and real maple syrup!)
Microwave
Frigidaire Professional Line dishwasher
Black & Decker Stainless Thermal coffee machine
Starbucks coffee packets.
Bodum electric kettle with an assortment of teas.
There's also a large wood deck off the sliding door in the dining room for outdoor hanging out with a table and a double hammock. Sometimes there are deer walking thru the yard! There's also an enamel drink cooler outside to keep wine and drinks cold while you're enjoying the outdoors. There is a Weber BBQ and a gas 36" flattop.
The cabin has custom curtains, mid century furniture, terra cotta tile floors downstairs and knotty pine wood upstairs, and lots of quirky touches and cool artwork. The wifi is really robust.
There's an electric fireplace in the living room for some instantly cozy ambience that turns on with the flick of a switch.
The bathrooms have Malin + Goetz bath and shower products and makeup remover towels. Each bathroom has a huge shower, plus the downstairs bathroom has a Duravit bathtub and the heated floors in each bathroom are so nice!
There is a 110 EV car charger hook if you have an electric car. Please let us know in advance if you'll need it.
We did a full restoration of the house and people have been loving it. We hope you do too!
We provide a welcome bottle of wine, and refreshments in the fridge as well as some snacks.
Please note it is no smoking, and most dogs are ok with prior approval for a fee of $125 each.
There is normally a two-night minimum but sometimes we can be flexible on that so send a message if you only need one night.
We usually can accommodate an early check in and a late checkout if you need it - we always try to make that happen if we can. Just ask!
We love to host private groups and weddings & events so please reach out for quotes on those events. (Events, offsites, and parties are not allowed on the property without a separate contract and insurance.)
Check out The Knotty Oak online as well! We have a great site with lots of event information.
Thank you!
Guest access
The location is so sweet! The Sugar Pine Cabin is right off of Highway 128 in downtown Philo, close to Scharffenberger, Baxter, Witching Stick, & Weatherborne tasting rooms, Lemon's Market, and Jumbo's Win Win top rated burgers. You could literally spend a whole day and not get in the car. There is ample parking inside the gated property and some herbs and fruit trees growing just off the parking lot. The Homestead house we also have is next to the Sugar Pine Cabin and The Schoolhouse is behind those two homes by a few hundred feet. It's private renting one of the homes, and also fun to rent more than one or go for a full buyout!
Other things to note
We are super happy to help you book tasting room appointments and dinner reservations in the Valley and even on the Coast, if time allows. We know pretty much everyone and can get you in just about anywhere. Check out our positive reviews and we hope to see you soon!
