The place was big enough for us. We were 6 people. It is quite big and it has 3 floors inside. Apparently it is an old house but recently renovated.
The beds upstairs were comfy but the double couch as usual was not (I think it is normal).
The location of the house was really good. Around 5 mins walking from San Marco, nice neighborhoods with shops nearby. The bathrooms were renovated and clean.
Strange thing I discovered, there was no door per room, the 2 rooms upstairs has one door (no privacy) and the couches in the living room (middle floor) also has no door.
Only 2 negative things:
There was some flies sticking to the ceiling all the time as it is full of holes. Thank God they didn't bite or annoy us.
The other thing is that it wasn't possible to check us in before 5pm although they knew our arrival time 4 days before. They told me that there were a lot of guests but I believe they should get more agents to help in this case.
Generally I see it a good value to money.
This place is really nice and the location was perfect. Took only 5-7 minutes to walk to Saint Mark's Square. The amenities were up to our standards, very clean, great communication with the host. No issues whatsoever. I'm not sure if it's mentioned in the description but the kitchen and 1 bathroom is on the first floor, 2nd floor is only the living room and the 3rd floor has the 2 bedrooms and 2nd bathroom.
Otherwise it was great. Highly recommend it.
Our family of 6 (2 adult couples and 2 pre-teen girls) travelled all around Italy for a month. Venice was toward the end of our stay and this house on a small, charming, and quiet square was one of the very best AirBnB places we stayed. It had air-conditioning that really worked – very important for such a hot Summer. Also – since we were a big group - it was great that we could spread out across 3 floors... that we had an entire house to ourselves with excellent WiFi. The 2 kids had their own room with cool bunkbeds that folded into the wall and their parents had the comfortable double bed in the private room next door. They all shared one of the clean, new bathrooms with reliable hot water. The other excellent bathroom was on the ground floor next to the modern kitchen with a dishwasher, a clothes washer, and nearly all the cooking tools you could need. (Really, the only thing missing was an oven so that we could bake a birthday cake.) Outside the kitchen was a small backyard with stone floor and a picnic table. On the middle floor was the spacious living room with plenty of closet space, a flat screen TV, a fold-out couch and a day bed. Unfortunately, sofa bed was not workable. I think everyone expects a fold out couch to be slightly uncomfortable; But this one was simply not usable. We contacted the company that managed the rental. They tried to be accommodating but explained that getting a new mattress for the sofa-bed would take days since shipments by boat take time, etc. I realized that my partner and I would have to make due. SO, since the day bed was a single, we pushed it up to the closed-up sofa to create something of a double. The management team was very apologetic and thanked us for bringing the problem to their attention so that they could purchase a new fold-out couch for the next guest. (I'm posting this here as a means of holding them to their promise.) I asked for a discount because of the inconvenience and they will be getting back to me. Besides this sofa-bed problem, the house was really, really great. (Plus, if you don't need extra beds, you can keep the sofa folded and have a perfect, spacious living room.) I would definitely stay here again the next time I go to Venice with a big group.
(Note: "S.MARCO PENTHOUSE:FREE WIFI - 7 PAX" is not really the best title for this listing. A penthouse is an apartment at the top of a building. A better title might be "Upgraded Private House on Charming Campo near San Marco Square")
The apartment ia the worst in my journey across Europe.the location of the apartment is completely different from the web page on Airbnb.there is only one bedroom has door.the illicit close sex cannot assure, infact the apartment is belone a travel agency.the contacter were very busy and has not so much time to contact with me.anyway this is a terrorist apartment for me and my family.
the apartment where you stayed is located near San Marco as the map shows. Anyway, in the reservation confirmation you also receive the full address. The apartment where you stayed is like in the pictures and it is not true there is only one bedroom. The apartment has a double bedroom and a twin bedroom. Like explained in the description, there are 2 sofa beds in the spacious living area.
Our purpose is to allow our guests to have a good stay in our apartments and, to do this, we try always to improve our service. We think reviews are very important because they allow us to understand the good aspects of our job and the services to improve. Unfortunately your review will not help us to do this: you judge your stay terrible without explaining the reasons. During your stay you never called us to complaint about the apartment. Also your private feedback "nothing everything" is very unhelpful. May the problem be that the apartment is managed by a travel agency ?!
Federico was our welcoming host in Venice. We arrived at the train station in a thunderstorm and it took me a little delay to secure our vaporetto passes. He was patient in spite of needing to greet other customers and gave us a complete orientation to sights and restaurants. The apartment is very convenient yet quiet, maybe 5 minutes or so from St. Mark’s square! The beds and living room provided comfort for our group of 4 adults. Our adult children (ages 27 and 24) found it fun to sleep in the bunk beds even though our son is 6’ 6”! Space is laid out very nicely over 3 floors. Beds and baths very clean and comfortable.
Thank you Federico!
Frederico made us feel welcome and did a great job informing us of the location of the apartment and even calling a maintenance man to correct the air conditioner that was not working well. His dinner recommendations we spot on. Great location with a nice bar around the corner for a great morning espresso and pastry.
