Some info has been automatically translated.
Grotto Grove is a 2 bedroom, 1.5 bathroom house that sits on 6 private acres nestled between Skytop Lodge and Buck Hill Falls. We are 2 hrs away from both NYC and Philly.

Perfect for friends and family looking to escape and reconnect or couples looking for a romantic getaway. Be it hiking our private trails in the summer, bird watching in the spring, or sitting around the wood burning stove with some apple cider donuts in the fall, if you love nature you will love Grotto Grove!

The space
Welcome to Grotto Grove – A Peaceful Nature Retreat

Our home is the perfect escape for friends and families seeking rest and reconnection. While we love animals, pets are not allowed as we maintain a hypoallergenic environment.

Enter Grotto Grove through a fully stocked kitchen. To your right is a convenient powder room; to the left, a semi-open floor plan leads to the living room, where a panoramic window offers breathtaking winter sunsets and lush green views in summer. A dividing wall separates the living and dining areas, with a cozy corner bar—ideal for hosting an intimate dinner or enjoying board games and puzzles.

Down the hall, you’ll find a full bathroom and two bedrooms. The smaller bedroom features a queen bed, ample natural light, and a dedicated workspace—perfect for remote work.

Across the hall, the master bedroom was once a 1950s sunroom and now boasts a king bed, a second workspace, and a wood-burning fireplace for cozy winter nights.

The basement is used for storage but can be unlocked upon request if you need access to the washer and dryer.

Outdoors, enjoy the evolving landscape that tells a story through time. The original owner in the 1960s laid the foundation, and the second owner—a skilled landscaper—introduced whimsical hardscaping elements that gave the property its peaceful charm. The current owner (that’s us) have continued the vision by clearing a front yard, adding a hardscaped firepit area, and working to cultivate wildflower gardens and a pollinator-friendly environment. You’ll find peonies, ferns, hostas, hellebores, and more woven throughout the property.

We’ve also added a grill for summer cookouts, a set of rocking chairs and umbrellas out front for slow mornings or sunset evenings, and a quiet table for two tucked behind the house—perfect for intimate conversations under the trees.

A Note About Nature
Grotto Grove is truly a nature lover’s paradise. Expect to see deer, birds, foxes, the occasional bear, and of course, insects. While we take every measure to keep pests outside, you may encounter spiders, bees, moths, and mosquitoes. If you’re highly sensitive to nature’s critters, this may not be the ideal spot for you.

Child Policy
Please note: the house is not child-proof and is not suitable for toddlers or infants. Children over the age of 10 are welcome.

Neighborhood highlights

The closest neighborhood is conveniently located 2 miles from the town of Canadensis but because of the private driveway and 6 acres it feels as if you are miles removed from it all. The neighborhood has access to everything you will need for your stay and details are included in the welcome packet we provide after confirmation of your booking.

We are centered in the middle of the Pocono Mountains for those looking for a livelier vacation. Enjoy all your favorite seasonal activities, including skiing, ice skating, hiking, zip lining, fishing, pumpkin picking, apple picking, horseback riding, river tubing, swimming, and white water rafting to name a few.

Food connoisseurs and beer snobs alike can enjoy the various eateries and breweries which we outline for your convenience in our welcome packet. We are also local to the Skytop Lodge, Mount Airy Casino, renowned golf courses, shooting ranges, the Pocono Outlets, and a number of hot spots for antiquing. The best part? You can take advantage of all these opportunities in a 20 min drive or less.
