Lykke is the Danish word for happiness and our cozy cottage is full of it! The Danes are notorious classified as the happiest people on the planet and part of that title comes from having a happy home. Although Fredericksberg is a German heritage town, we wanted to bring some lesson down from Germany’s neighbor to the north. Cue: The Lykke House. It’s full of brightness, laughter generating activities, and as much joy as we could muster. We hope it brings the same to you and yours.

The space
The Lykke House is an adorable cottage a short 15 minute walkfrom Main Street tasting rooms. It is nestled in a grove of Bradford pear and pecan trees that provide ample shade while relaxing on the front porch. The bright teal doors welcome you into a cozy two-bedroom, two-bathroom home that appeals to a sense of belonging around every turn. If you look close enough, you may find some clues from the two boys that called this place home for the better part of their lives.

The living room, equipped with cable TV, is wonderful for enjoying a glass of wine and reading up on some Fredericksberg activities. If you’re like us, the kitchen is where the family collects. Large enough to share the tasks of cooking a meal, and a couple stools around an island to share some bites. You can tell a place by the effort put into the bedrooms. Being guests in this space ourselves, we provide extra pillow on each bed and added a few extras the guest closet to find your optimal “squish" and the beds in the bedrooms are ensured to give you a good nights rest.

Continuing outside, we have several spots for you to enjoy a nice Texan sunset. Need some food? A charcoal grill ready for some burgers. Need some entertainment? Bocce ball and washers will bring out some competition. Need some nature? Sit on our patio and watch the turkey and deer roam on the ranch right across the street.

The whole space is yours! Plenty of parking; two spots on site, and street parking is all open. We have three fully fenced in yards offering different atmospheres in each one. Come tale a tour of the neighborhood; there are even a few local shops nearby.

Other things to note
Having pets of our own, we are excited to offer a dog friendly home! We do require all paws to be planted on the floor at all times and keep the furniture to people use only.

Our home is right at the cusp of rural life! Being just under a mile from main gives access to the events, and yet one can revel in the quite peaceful nights.
