We had a wonderful stay during the month of November 2014 at the modernist house. We were lucky to have a beautiful snowfall and the view of the creek and forest from the home were just amazing. The home fit our needs perfectly and was cozy. We enjoyed the kitchen and actually cooked thanksgiving dinner. The house has a European charm with many decorative features that reminded me of my own childhood. Internet access was important to us and we had no issues.
This house and the surrounding property are amazing. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful, quiet stay in the hudson valley. I am already looking forward to coming back (assuming they will let me stay again!)
Wow! What a great experience that was!!!
We are two writers from different parts of the globe. This was our neutral territory getaway to write. Couldn't have asked for a better place. It is a well designed house: spacious, free flowing (energy wise) and big windows overlooking the forest and the creek. Beautiful :) It is so quiet and serene. The surrounding nature grounded us and we were able to work very productively.
Great getaway to work. And when you need a rest - wonderful places to walk and jog.
We will be coming again.
Celia, thank you for a wonderful place!
This is an inspirational place. We felt at peace here and able to unwind completely. Our family loved it so much; was exceptionally hard to tear ourselves away. Beautiful in every way; inside and out - so much to do nearby and very easy to get into Manhattan for a day trip. Hosts were incredibly helpful - highly recommended.
We loved this house so much that we kept extending our stay. In the end, we rented the house for three months. It's so peaceful. Tons of wildlife around. You feel a million miles away from NYC, but it's only about an hour and a half drive -- even less on the train. It's close to town which has cute restaurants. There's a Wal-Mart about 15 mins away in case you need any suburban-type things. The layout of the house is so cozy. I cooked many meals in the kitchen, and I will really miss the fancy range! Highly recommend this spot!
The house is beautiful. So cozy-- great high-quality furniture. The grounds are so lovely-- really, really in nature. There are deer, wold turkeys, and all kinds of wild life. The host is super accommodating and very kind. We loved the house so much that we kept booking more and more time.
Gorgeous house, gorgeous landscape. We spent hours just staring out the window, watching the creek running, the fawns playing, the birds fluttering (even a goldfinch and an indigo bunting!), the fireflies lighting up the hills. Exactly what we needed. Highly recommend.
