This was our first time using Airbnb and had such a great experience. The host was responsive and clear with expectations. The home was far beyond what we anticipated, even with the listing page's photos and details. We can echo the other reviews of this place. It is beautifully decorated and located in an idyllic natural setting. A clean and gentle stream flows through the property and lush trees and plants fill every view. Dusk brought fire flies dancing under the stars, and dawn was welcomed to the sounds of scores of birds.
A huge bonus was the Viking cook top, Sub-Zero fridge, and two outdoor grills. We took good supplies and ate well. There's a high-end coffee shop called Coffee Pantry just a few minutes south of the place and next to it is an excellent little butcher shop called Marbled.
We had a wonderful stay and probably will return to do it again.
My family had a great experience at their home. It was beautiful and well maintained. They had some some stuff that needed handling during our visit but their help was very accommodating. I hope you use it regularly.
We arrived at this home down a secluded road, amazed at the beautiful surrounds. It was exactly as pictured except the pictures do not show the open floor plan of the home. Very comfortable for the six of us. The kids loved their room with all the games, toys to keep their interest indoors. The oldest taught herself to play a tune on the piano. The kitchen was a godsend for our family and the dining area was so peaceful to watch the wildlife as they past through. My husband wish he didn't have to leave.
What a fantastic space! We had to cancel a last minute sun seeking trip to Mexico due to work, but still wanted to get out of NYC and have a different view for a week of work. Celia's house is perfection. As fans of mid century furniture this was a dream space for us. If that's not your thing I'm sure you'll appreciate comfortable couches, roaring fires, watching the stream run by as you sit at the dining table. it was the last on winter and the grounds were blanketed in snow - we couldn't actually do anything but stay inside, cook and watch the ice melt but it was perfection. If you like cooking you'll also love the kitchen! I am really looking forward to going back in the warmer months and walking the grounds.
We had a wonderful stay during the month of November 2014 at the modernist house. We were lucky to have a beautiful snowfall and the view of the creek and forest from the home were just amazing. The home fit our needs perfectly and was cozy. We enjoyed the kitchen and actually cooked thanksgiving dinner. The house has a European charm with many decorative features that reminded me of my own childhood. Internet access was important to us and we had no issues.
This house and the surrounding property are amazing. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful, quiet stay in the hudson valley. I am already looking forward to coming back (assuming they will let me stay again!)
Wow! What a great experience that was!!!
We are two writers from different parts of the globe. This was our neutral territory getaway to write. Couldn't have asked for a better place. It is a well designed house: spacious, free flowing (energy wise) and big windows overlooking the forest and the creek. Beautiful :) It is so quiet and serene. The surrounding nature grounded us and we were able to work very productively.
Great getaway to work. And when you need a rest - wonderful places to walk and jog.
We will be coming again.
Celia, thank you for a wonderful place!
