The 5-acre China Cabinet Ranch is next to SNP's
Tucson Mountain District. It has beautiful Western decor and is IN the desert!
Your room has a queen bed, an adjacent private bath with a tub, a full kitchen, aand laundry privileges. Enjoy mountain views, sunrises, sunsets, and stargazing without any city lights. CCR is 20 min west of
town from W. Ina Rd and I-10. Your host
offers a 2-Hour
Introduction to horses and leads tours of the petroglyphs found in the neighborhood of Picture Rocks.

The space
The China Cabinet Ranch is on 5 desert acres at the base of the Tucson Mountains. Complete with the local cacti including many saguaros. Being next to Saguaro NP, there are often coyotes passing through, and they always serenade us at night.
You will share the house with the owner and her 25 pound friendly service dog Mocha. You are welcome to help with "barn chores" or sign up for an Equine Experience. There’s also a tour to two petroglyph sites in the park. You will have a private bedroom with a queen-sized screen bed and an adjacent private bathroom. You'll have everything you need in the kitchen with morning coffee or tea included daily. There is Starlink Internet for Wifi or streaming Amazon Prime and Paramount+.
The house has an open floor plan with
with Western decor. There are front and back porches so you can watch the sunrises and sunsets or sit by a campfire for stargazing. Equestrians with horses are welcome but must call before booking. First load of laundry is free.

Guest access
Please call or text with an ETA the day before your arrival so I can meet you when you arrive. The best drive from town to this rural neighborhood winds through scenic Saguaro National Park’s west district. The last half mile is a dirt road, so drive slowly. Be SURE to use the Airbnb app for directions to the China Cabinet Ranch! On the west side of the Tucson Mountains, we only have two gas stations, a feed store, Dollar General, dive bar, veterinarian, and a Subway out here. There are restaurants and Walmart on Cortaro Rd (off I-10) and a Fry’s grocery store on Silverbell Rd. along with other restaurants, stores, and other services. All parking is uncovered and there is no public transportation out here. Please do not enter my workshop or bedroom. You will have a key to your room and the front door.

During your stay
You will be sharing my home with my well-behaved golden doodle pup Charlotte and I. My horse Mosaic lives out back. As a Certified Tucson Ambassador who’s lived here for 40 years, I provide excellent advice for people visiting the area. I enjoy meeting people from different places and can provide suggestions to maximize your time here. You will be asked to sign a standard liability waiver due to contact you may have with the horse (do not enter the corral unless I am with you). I’m often home and enjoy chatting with my guests in the common areas. Please do not enter my workshop or bedroom. You’ll have a key to your room and to the front door. Because the China Cabinet Ranch offers horse camping and is a Harvest Host with three RV sites, there are often other visitors staying here.

Other things to note
1. PLEASE communicate with me using the app including the link for directions on Google since other mapping apps often give the wrong directions.
2. For those traveling with horses, please call before making reservations because you’ll need special instructions.
4. I offer two Airbnb Experiences: an hour-long non-riding experience with horses as well as a tour of nearby petroglyphs, both described under Airbnb’s “Experiences.” I can also arrange trail rides for folks at a guest ranch where I work adjacent to Saguaro National Park.
5. I have STARLINK if you need internet. I

Neighborhood highlights

The China Cabinet Ranch is adjacent to Saguaro National Park's picturesque West District. The last half mile to the CCR is dirt, and there are no streetlights (best to arrive before dark). Within 3 miles is a gas station, Subway, local bar, dollar store, veterinarian, and feed store. Everyone here is on five acres. No traffic, but you’ll hear and possibly see coyotes passing through this rural desert property. There are trails right from the house.

I’m a retired Spanish teacher who now teaches horseback riding, operates and offers Tucson’s China Cabinet Ranch for Airbnb, camping with Harvest Host, and a horse motel through an equestrian website. I like country music, camping, and conversation. Hablo español muy bien. I love meeting people from different places and showing off “the Old Pueblo.” My philosophy? Nature is my church, you can sleep when you’re dead, and follow the Golden Rule.
