About this listing
This spacious room with its own bathroom is situated in a beautiful flat characterised by exposed brick, wooden floors and lots of light - a real home from home. Enjoy your stay in a neighbourhood popular with locals and so close to central London!
What everyone loves about my place:
This is a lovingly decorated double bedroom with lots of light and lots of space. A complimentary bottle of wine, a bottle of filtered water as well as a hair dryer and two free Oyster cards (to get around London's public transport system) are made available for every guest. Your own luxurious bathroom with fresh towels, soap, hand cream and shower gel is right next to the bedroom.
You can use the beautiful and very sunny kitchen for breakfast in the morning. There is always lots of fresh organic fruit, organic natural yoghurt, organic swiss muesli as well as tea, coffee and organic milk. The comfortable lounge area is available for relaxing after a long day. There are many books you are very welcome to borrow. There is no TV.
Interaction with Guests
I am always very interested to hear about where my guests are from, what they do, why they are coming to London and why they chose to stay with me. Sometimes this may result in a home cooked dinner and a glass of wine together. However, I have a very active lifestyle and I am often travelling or out and about or just busy living life so sometimes when I come home I just want to relax.
Clapham is one of the most vibrant areas in South London lots of young professionals from all walks of life call their home. It is very well-connected with buses and tubes to Central London as well as its vicinity to two of London's busiest railway stations: Victoria and Clapham Junction.
By tube (underground, subway):
Leicester Square/Covent Garden - 15 mins
The West End - 15 mins
London Bridge/Bank/The City - 15 mins
Waterloo/Southbank/Tate Modern - 15 mins
Bus Number 88 to Oxford Circus - 30mins
via Tate Britain, Westminster Abbey and Trafalgar Square
London City Airport - 40 mins
Gatwick Airport - 50 mins
Heathrow Airport - 75 mins
Stansted Airport - 90 mins
Luton Airport - 90 mins
Other Things to Note
What some guests don't like about my place:
There is a deep staircase with narrow steps leading to my flat on the first floor - 15 steps in total which I walk up and down several times a day, but which can be hazardous for someone with difficulty climbing stairs.
I mostly work from home and my desk is the kitchen table. I therefore ask my guests to be respectful of my time and space during weekdays and would like them to have finished breakfast by 10am, which is not suitable for everyone. The same goes for dinner and cooking in my kitchen. My working hours vary widely and I am not always able to finish by 6pm. However, I AM VERY FLEXIBLE and have many work commitments outside of my flat so I can always schedule around my guests' needs - all I require is good communication before and throughout your holiday so that I can ensure your stay will be an unforgettable experience.
If you have any questions about the accommodation or require general advice for your trip, please get in touch and I'll do my best to answer everything. I am here to help make your stay a memorable one!

The room was as described. This was our second stay with Claudia - just a few days this time. The room and the rest of the space was immaculate.
We arrived while Claudia was away and she made provisions for us to pick up the keys with clear instructions on how to obtain them.
Claudia was very welcoming and provided fresh fruit and breakfast needs. We are planning to return to England next year for a friends wedding. If we stay in London on our way, Claudia's room will be our first choice.
Claudia was very flexible in when we could move in during the day and we exchanged emails & phone calls to ensure that she would be there when we arrived :)
The location is very good; a quiet & peaceful neighbourhood near central London and quite close to the Metro.
This is my first time using airbnb to rent a living place when travel. And the experience is amazing. The host nicely ready for me London transpiration card oyster, and give some useful advises about travel。
The house is not far from the subway station. And easy to find using Google maps.
Claudia provided a lovely, clean room. The location was really excellent. It was very close to a street with lots of restaurants, pubs, grocery stores etc. It was also very near the north Clapham tube station yet far enough away to be quiet at night.
The room is pretty, Claudia is nice and helpful and Clapham is a charming and lovable neighborhood. Claudia was very helpful, welcoming and quickly responding before arrival. She also had every thing very thoughtfully arranged in the house. Center of London is a little far, but reaching it still only takes about 20 min. I had trouble sleeping because of the blinders, that did not function very well and because of a very large pillow that hurt my neck. But these are minor flaws - and with regards to the pillow largely a matter of preference. All in all I feel very content with the experience. Than you for welcoming us Claudia!
Claudia's apartment is absolutely charming just as the pictures show. Everything was clean and neat. We had our own bathroom right next to the bedroom, which was very convenient. Claudia was a very welcoming host who answered lots of our questions regarding the neighborhood, which we fell in love with. Clapham has lots of little cafes, shops, restaurants, and a big park. Claudia provided us with coupons to some of the local restaurants where we received an instant 20% off. She also provided breakfast and wine. Overall, this was one of the nicest airbnb stays we've had.
Claudia met us at the door & was very welcoming. She showed us around the house & our space & chatted with us for a few minutes. There were chocolates, cold water, & a bottle of wine waiting for us. The space was as listed, very clean, & the bed was comfortable. We had our own bathroom & towels were supplied. We arrived late (about 10pm), but weren't afriaid to walk in the neighborhood. The street was quiet, well lit, very close to the tube station & easy to find. We were grateful Claudia accepted our reservation, as we booked at the very last minute & it was only for 1 night. She spoke to us several times by phone & text to arrange our arrival on the day. She was extremely accommodating to our schedule. This was our first experience with Airbnb and it was a good one. We will use Airbnb in the future & if Claudia will have us next time we are in London for an overnight, we would love to stay in her home again. She is a wonderful hostess and we enjoyed being in her home.

About the Host, Claudia
I'm a German who has lived in London for fifteen years. I love this city and think it's absolutely amazing what airbnb is making possible.
I have travelled lots over the years and always looked at alternatives of staying over in places. Whether it was a working farm in the south of Italy, a boat in France, a cattle farm in Australia, a tree house in Turkey or a good old-fashioned bed & breakfast in South West England - as a traveller I wanted to meet the locals and experience their place as they do as this is the best way to learn about other cultures. With today's technology and the ingenious airbnb platform this whole process has become so much easier and fun. It is wonderful how airbnb is helping ordinary people to open their doors to the curious traveller and I am very happy that I can contribute to this. I'm looking forward to welcoming you in this vibrant neighbourhood of this wonderful city.
