Set on 4 acres, nestling in the peaceful Baranduda Range, with stunning views across the Kiewa Valley to the hills beyond, our Wee Bothy (Scottish for cottage) offers a cosy and welcoming stay for a couple/family in a newly renovated former gallery. Pet-friendly, backing onto forest trails, and near Albury/Wodonga with its shops, restaurants and cinemas, as well as historical Yackandandah and Beechworth, its a must for those who love to walk, run, bike, ski or simply explore or relax - like us!

The space
* To protect our family and guests, you must be fully vaccinated against COVID. Please do not book unless you have a valid vaccination certificate. We are all fully vaccinated*

A neuk (pronouned nook) is the Scottish word for a secluded, secure corner and we think we live in a wee corner of heaven surrounded by native Australian bush - home to iconic Aussie wildlife like kangaroos, wombats and echidnas as well as birds including king parrots, blue wrens, rosellas, finches, bower birds and kookaburras.

We offer a yummy continental breakfast comprising locally sourced produce where possible. Our own freshly-laid eggs, Aussie bacon, cereals, muesli, homemade bread, jams and preserves, local honey and freshly squeezed orange juice. You can also look forward to enjoying freshly roasted coffee, frothy milk or a pot of your favourite tea. Please let us know if you have any special dietary requirements.

**Kids under 12 are free! **
Like many other BnBs, we do have an additional charge per person after the first two guests, to cover our costs. But we also understand that raising a family can be expensive business and want to keep it affordable. So, if you are bringing your little ones that are under 12, just put two guests in the booking and let me know in a message your exact numbers and their ages. That way you wont be charged.

The Wee Bothy was originally a gallery and studio for local Baranduda artist, Betty Scott. Modernised for your comfort, yet respectfully retaining its original Aussie character and quirkiness, you may also spot some wee Scottish touches that adds our own twist to its natural charm.

A fully functional kitchen equipped with cooker, fridge, microwave, toaster and kettle. A washing machine is also available.

Have we mentioned the views? They are spectacular - and dont just take our word for it. And what better way to marvel the vistas and soak in the tranquility and beauty of the area, than to enjoy a drink or meal on your own outdoor table setting.

And then there are the trails - right at your back door. Baranduda Regional Park boosts walking and mountain bike tracks. As runners, mountain bikers and walkers ourselves (its one of the reasons we bought the place) we love that we have such freedom to indulge in our passion from our back paddock. But as you will read - there are many more trails to enjoy suitable for all levels, including children, in the Albury/Wodonga and Yackandandah area. You will certainly find there is so much to do and explore that a week or two wont seem long enough!

Where you’ll be

Baranduda, Victoria, Australia

Baranduda is the place to be if you want to be in the Bush, yet still be close to amenities and attractions. We think its the perfect holiday destination if you enjoy the outdoors, love the Australian bush with its wildlife and birds, or just like to explore!

We are very close to the historical townships of Yackandandah and Beechworth (without the prices!) And a visit to the nearby beautiful Mount Beauty, Myrtleford and/or Bright with all their attractions seldom disappoints.

There's a plethora of walking/running/mountain bike trails nearby. Some are as close as our back paddock, others are only 15 mins drive in the surrounding Wodonga hills or Nail Can Hill Reserve in Albury.

Close to Lake Hume where you can fish, paddleboard and water ski.

Cycle/walk/run on the High Country Rail Trail; currently running 80kms from Shelley just outside Corryong, weaving its way through Tallangatta (the town that moved in the 1950s) and along Lake Hume shore before finishing in Wodonga.

Enjoy tasting award-winning wines from the Rutherglen winery region or sample locally made gin and whisky in Yackandandah.

Mount Hotham and Falls Creek ski fields are just over 100kms away.

Hello! And Fáilte - which means a very warm welcome in Gaelic which is exactly what you can look forward to when you stay with us at LittleNeuk BnB - honestly, we (and others) think it is a wee secluded corner of heaven.

I am Fiona - and as you have probably guessed - I originally come from Scotland. I am a semi-retired professional who moved here to live with my Australian husband, Chris. The Wodonga area has been his home for over 30 years - so he knows lots about it! We live with Finn - our beagledor (beagle cross labrador puppy) and our beautiful Andalusian-cross feathered lassies (chickens) who are free to roam around our 4 acres. We are also joined throughout the day by king parrots (15 at last count), rosellas, finches, bower birds, galahs, kookaburras, wombats, echnidas kangaroos and many more... We love it!

I have wanted to host a BnB for a very long time - and especially here in the Albury Wodonga area. There is so much to explore and do. Hosting guests runs in my Scottish blood. We are known to look after you well - with good beds, food, banter and maybe even a wee dram or two..

Both Chris and I love adventures in the big outdoors. We have run, mountain biked and hiked over the world and now have the pleasure of having the Baranduda Regional Park to 'play' in on our back doorstep, ski fields and trails galore in the surrounding areas. We know most of the trails around here and would be delighted to pass on our knowledge to our guests so that you can make the most of your stay here.

We really do look forward to welcoming you.

Your hosts, Fiona and Chris, are fully vaccinated against COVID.

We live in 'The Big Hoose' about 20m away from the Wee Bothy, so we are very accessible! And being of celtic origin - I am warm, open and friendly; and enjoy a chat or two..

Meeting new people and showing them the hidden gems of this beautiful (yet unfairly overlooked) area is what attracted me to become a host! So we are more than happy to make ourselves available to share our local knowledge and ensure that you have the best stay possible.
