The Sheep Shack is located in Arlington VT. Originally built as an actual sheep shack, it was later converted into a hunting cabin and then to its current state - a family vacation cabin. The two bedroom cabin is situated on 36 acres of working maple farm and directly across the road from the Battenkill River. There are river and mountain views and a 1 mile nature walk in the woods behind the cabin.
**4 Wheel Drive or All Wheel Drive is required for the driveway during the winter months.*

The space
We lovingly restored this family cabin a few years ago and are excited to share it with other families. It is set up for couples or families of up to 5 people, with a maximum of 2 adults and 3 kids. It is not a good house for groups of adults or parties.
The main bedroom has a Casper king size bed and the second bedroom has bunk beds with an optional trundle. We can also set up a full size crib in the bunk room or a pack n' play in the king room. We have outfitted the Sheep Shack with most things needed for traveling with kids - dishes, a changing table, toys, books, a high chair, booster seat, swing set and Hatch sound machine. Feel free to ask about specific things and we will do our best to accommodate.
Please note that there is no bathtub, but there is a large sink for baby baths.
There is a fully fenced yard with a swing set, a fire pit, a patio for outdoor dining and a 1 mile nature trail that is marked.
There is no direct river access as we are across the road from the Battenkill, but plenty of places to drive to to have some river fun. You can see and hear the river from the cabin.
The cell service is weak and spotty but the wifi is strong.
No parties.
No pets. If evidence of a pet is found after your stay, you will be charged an additional $250 cleaning fee.

Guest access
Full use of house, yard and woods. Can park in the garage. The only area closed to guests is the basement.

Other things to note
The cabin is located in rural Vermont, so there are ticks and tick checks are advised.
Cell service is spotty but the wifi is strong.
Grocery stores are about 20 minutes away but there are a couple great country stores and a Stewarts nearby.
Also to note for those with allergies, we do have a dog who stays there with us occasionally.
