A charming, peaceful room in Centretown, Ottawa. Health food, parks, bars, all major public transit, and many attractions are all within walking distance. I am a friendly host and want your stay to be perfect for you.
This is a very pretty spot in Centretown. Internet is provided. Lovely big kitchen. 5 mins walking distance to Bank St., 10 minutes walk to the Glebe, 25 minutes walk to the Market. Great health food store close by.
I have two separate listings for two bedrooms with twin (single) beds. Some might find them too small for two, but many couples have shared them happily for weeks at a time.
The exact size of each bed is:
39 in × 75 in
99 cm × 191 cm
I am renting both rooms when I am away, and just the one when I am home. The photos show both bedrooms. This listing is for the one pictured in the cover photo with the beige bedspread. You can find the other listing by visiting my profile page.
I appreciate guests with a complete airbnb profile including a photo of themselves.
Check in is at 5pm, check out at 10am daily. I am flexible on this but need to be informed in advance if guests expect to stray very far from these times during their stay.
Expect a quiet clean house. There's a bit of street noise on weekends. A tea and oatmeal breakfast is provided free of charge, please request in advance if you wish to take advantage of this option.
The neighbourhood is mixed with high-end restaurants and more economical options. Every nationality you can think of is represented, with two hookah bars close by, Ethiopian, Greek, Italian, Lebanese, Chinese, Korean, Japanese restaurants all within 10 minute's walk, to name a few. There are huge parks nearby and the canal bike trails are easily accessible.
Two OC Transpo buses, the 4 and the 14, stop within 2 minute's walk, going North/South and East/West. The main OC Transpo downtown artery, Bank Street, is 5 minute's walk. The East/West transitway is 15 minute's walk. I am located 3 minute's walk from the Greyhound bus terminal. A nearby bus route goes directly to and from the airport.
The Queensway is 3 blocks away.
The place is special because it feels like a home, not an apartment. It's a charming old building, and gets lots of sun.
Pets are negociable but I am allergic to cats. There is no television or microwave in the house. A parking space is provided. Smoking is permitted on the front porch. Wireless internet is provided.
Guests must contact me in advance if they wish to bring another person into the apartment. This is for the privacy and security of myself and my guest.
I prefer that my guests leave the bedroom door open during the day; this is a request not a rule. The purpose of this request is so that I am aware of whether or not my guest is in the house at all times.
I expect guests to leave the apartment the way they found it, except for the bedding and towel which I ask be left in the laundry hamper provided in the room.
I request that guests refrain from using strong perfumes or scented body products if possible. I don't use any such products.
Blake is an excellent and professional host. I've already stayed at his place twice and each time it was a pleasant and warm experience. The apartment is cosy and clean. The location is great, close to the central bus station and city centre/ Bank st.
Blake m'a bien reçue, je suis satisfaite des conditions de mon séjour. L'appartement est chaleureux et l'atmosphère accueillante.
Blake host one of my friend. It's was really nice from him. She had a great time, the room was clean ans everything was perfect.
I felt very welcome at Blake's house. I find his house very charming and full of character. The room was large as well as the kitchen, and bathroom. Everything was clean and in order. Blake is a very nice guy and even if I did not see him a lot due to my schedule, I enjoyed very much chatting with him. The neighborhood is perfect and I loved the walks amongst all of those cute houses. There are very good restaurants around. I did not try any groceries. If you go during winter time, go ice-skate on the canal, it is magical!! I would definitely go back at Blake's if I had to come back in Ottawa.
Blake was very welcoming, making sure I would be able to get in when I arrived. He was friendly and easy to talk with, making sure I had whatever I needed, while being completely unobtrusive.
When I headed out for supper, he asked me if I had anything specific in mind. When I said no, he gave me a recommendation, which proved to be very good, and only a short walk away.
Blake's place is basic, clean, and quiet, just what I wanted.
Blake was fantastic and made me comfortable and welcome from the beginning. He ensured I knew everything I needed to know about place and was super friendly and communicative. Lovely apartment too, close to everything on Bank St, and a nice big room. Had a great time!
