About This Listing
Private room in a tree shaded house with 1940s charm intact. Large tree shaded yard, front porch, back patio. Quiet residential neighborhood.
The house still has its period details, and a big vintage stove that makes cooking a pleasure. The trees shade the back yard beautifully in summer, its the perfect place for dinner under the awning and the jacaranda, and the hibiscus out front makes the front porch a cool oasis.
Walk to live theaters, a 7 screen art-house cinema, wonderful restaurants, shops and the metro. This area is one of the few places in LA where you can easily get anywhere on public transit. East-west bus 3 blocks away, north-south bus 5 blocks away, subway and bus depot 12 blocks away.
Central air and heat, oak floors, beautiful vintage tile in the bath. Located near Universal studios and Hollywood. Burbank airport 10 minutes away. Wifi, HDTV, Xbox, Netflix, washer and dryer, easy parking.
I liked airbnb as a guest so much I became a host! As an experienced traveler it is good to return the favor that's been done for me all around the world. Happy to help you navigate LA, especially Hollywood and the theater and arts scene.
No smoking and no pets, and just remember to pick up after yourself, that's all. And enjoy your stay!
Tim was out of town during the weekend we booked so we didn't meet. But everything went smoothly. Great communication. Fast response. Good location. Short drive to attractions such as Universal Studio and good restaurants. The room was clean and the neighborhood was quiet. Definitely worth the price!
First time renting via Airbnb and I'm thankful to have found this place.
The pictures and great reviews are completely accurate. Tim is a also a very courteous host.
The property is quiet and feels like a second home.
Tim made me feel very welcome. He is very sociable and affable; and is also mindful of one's sphere of privacy. It was very easy to arrange arrival and departure with all the known and unknown hurdles around travel.
The house as well as the neighborhood are quite and walkable. Public transport is easy to find and convenient - by LA standards; parking close to the house no problem at all.
I stayed for a month at Tim's house and can recommend it for short and long term visits to LA. It provided a convenient quiet environment for my work stay in LA.
Tim was a courteous host, and I felt welcome. He was very responsive from the very beginning, including answering my text and call when I arrived three hours later than expected, in the middle of his son's football game! His home is conveniently located in a quiet neighborhood a short drive from downtown Hollywood.
Terrific place in a great location! Tim is awesome and was very hospitable. Would definitely recommend his place for a stay if you're looking to be in the Valley!

About the Host, Tim
I live in LA, grew up in San Francisco and have lived in New York City and France. I have also spent a lot of time in Indonesia and Nepal. I run an international consulting company and also as a produce tv and film projects. When I am not working I spend as much time outdoors as possible. I live near the Hollywood Hills, so I am hiking and running there as much as I can, while also going to the beach, mountains and desert nearby. Every now and then I go on a mountaineering expedition abroad. Art and athletics, friends and family are pillars of my life.
I really enjoy meeting the people I host through airbnb, and also enjoy staying at places I find through this site when I travel. I am a big fan of airbnb.
