Private room in a tree shaded house with 1940s charm intact. Large tree shaded yard, front porch, back patio. Quiet residential neighborhood.
The house still has its period details, and a big vintage stove that makes cooking a pleasure. The trees shade the back yard beautifully in summer, its the perfect place for dinner under the awning and the jacaranda, and the hibiscus out front makes the front porch a cool oasis.
Walk to live theaters, a 7 screen art-house cinema, wonderful restaurants, shops and the metro. This area is one of the few places in LA where you can easily get anywhere on public transit. East-west bus 3 blocks away, north-south bus 5 blocks away, subway and bus depot 12 blocks away.
Central air and heat, oak floors, beautiful vintage tile in the bath. Located near Universal studios and Hollywood. Burbank airport 10 minutes away. Wifi, HDTV, Xbox, Netflix, washer and dryer, easy parking.
I liked airbnb as a guest so much I became a host! As an experienced traveler it is good to return the favor that's been done for me all around the world. Happy to help you navigate LA, especially Hollywood and the theater and arts scene.

I stayed at Tim's house when I returned to the city to work in the valley. Very convenient to many spots - Burbank, Glendale, Valley Village, etc. The house was very charming and in a real neighborhood. Also very quiet. Felt overall very homey. Tim was also very nice. A real comforting place to land for a bit.
Place and location was great, host was friendly and nice. But when we checked the place, we were not very happy. Fridge was filled with old products. There were things just lying around and not very orderly. Closet was filled with clutter. It would not have taken much time to present the apartment nicer, so it was a pity to say the least that the place was not very welcoming.
Tim is a very nice guy and has a very clean and warm home.
Spent 2 (email hidden). Handy for our trip to Universal studios. Quiet area and found Tim was very helpful with all the information we required.
I stayed at Tim's house in order not to have to drive back to San Diego after an event, and to avoid LA traffic. I arrived early (2pm), caught up on emails with the wifi there, dressed and came back around midnight. I liked the convenient street parking, the door locks which were simple and worked well. Tim left lights on for me also which was nice. The bathroom was convenient to my bedroom, and the neighborhood was peaceful. I awakened to the sound of a mockingbird, and left early before they got up. The doorknob lock was convenient to lock the door behind myself without waking up Tim. I was on the road before traffic, and it was perfect! The room was spacious, private, functional and there was a desk, which is nice. Althouigh there was an outdoor area, I wasn't there long enough to use it. Tim's son Joe was there, and I enjoyed meeting him as well He was as polite and helpful as Tim. I recommend this location for access to hwy 134 and 101. My event was just down Vineland from Tim's place, so it was a nice traffic free commute to and from my reason for being in LA.
My sister and I stayed at Tim's house for a month, and we also shared there with him. He was very nice and easy going person, and the room was very well equipped for the guests. The location was convenient that if you want to use public transportation. It was a long stay hospitality, and I need to thank Tim, because he trusted in me and let us the home by nights without any concern. Thank you Tim for your understanding..
The 1940 tree shaded bungalow was a beautiful little place! It's also ver clean and comfortable, and I just love the gorgious well kept hardwood all through the house. Tim was an excellent host and a very educated man, easy to get along; you can't ask for a better one than he.
I really enjoyed staying there, and I highly recmend all who wish and look for a place to stay..... a 1940 tree shaded bungalow is the best (website hidden) Regards,
PS. I apoloy for being delay in responed. This was because my coputer is a very old version that it doesn't alow me to do certain thing/severals things.
Tim was the most welcoming of hosts, making one feel completely at home and at ease. The bedroom felt spacious and not overly cluttered with furniture and there was the ideal amount of closet space and a very comfortable bed and a good sized table, ideal if one wanted to work at the computer and spread out paperwork. The environment was cozy and quiet and ideal if one decided to spend a morning working from home. Tim's kitchen was available to prepare meals and use of his beautifully restored vintage cooker - and rather fine pots and pans - , and to eat in his charming dinning room. I would certainly recommend Tim's accommodation very highly and look forward hopefully to staying there again when I next return to Los Angeles.
Tim's house is quiet & comfortable. a good location for NoHo/Burbank - close to main streets & business but in a quiet neighborhood.
He was very helpful, even with transportation from the metro (on a day pouring rain) & with suggestions for restaurants, etc. There's an organic coffee shop very close by & a terrific neighborhood grocery with fresh produce.
Probably a better option if you have transportation than walking. The metro isn't a terrible walk but there are really no close buses. Would be great with a bike.
Clean, comfortable room tho.
Tim was an excellent host. He gave me great suggestions for exploring LA, and was very open with my using the shared spaces (kitchen, TV, etc). Staying at his house worked well for my needs ... convenient to freeways and to the subway going downtown. My room was perfect ... quiet during the day for the project I was working on, and a firm, comfortable bed. (The planes from Burbank Airport became 'white noise' pretty quickly for me, and there were no flights from 10PM to 7 or 8AM.) I am allergic to cats and most dogs, so I also appreciated the no-animal cleanliness of Tim's house.
