Spring in the Sierras. Spectacular!
Come on up! Make yourself at home, relax and enjoy our cozy, mountain home. It's centrally located yet secluded, in a very quiet neighborhood on the edge of a lush mountain meadow.
There is still a lot of snow in the higher elevations, but everything at lake level has melted. The days are warmer and longer and the wild flowers will be spectacular this year. Although the Lake isn't ready for swimming... it's still a bit on the chilly side, you can enjoy a nice hike along its shores and enjoy the views of the snow capped mountains here in Spring.
California beaches, Pope Beach, Baldwin Beach, Kiva Beach and the Beach at Camp Richardson are just 10 minutes from the house. Nevada Beach, a beautiful long sandy beach, just over the Stateline in Nevada is 15 minutes from here. Take a bike ride or just relax around the house in the garden or on the decks. Trout Creek runs behind the house and several guests have caught brook trout back there. Bring your pole if you'd like. And your waders. The meadow can be a marsh in the early summer. Fishing opens June 30th.
Guest Room 1 has a queen bed with an electric blanket, just in case you need it. Guest Room 1 is on the main level of the house. It is the only bedroom on that level. It views the meadow and has a private entrance off of the deck. Scroll through the photos and check it out. The room has a closet and a dresser for your use. The bathroom is not attached, but it's very close and will be your private bathroom during your stay.
There are always fresh linens on the beds and fresh towels in the bathrooms. A hair dryer and toiletries are available.
There is another guestroom in the house. It is listed as Mountain Meadow Lodge Guestroom 2. See it at Listing Page ID #490186. So if you want to come up with friends, you can.
For complete privacy, check out my other listing, Mountain Meadow Studio Apt. See it at Listing Page ID #(PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN)
Coffee and tea are available. A light breakfast is provided. You may bring your own provisions and make yourself at home in the well equipped kitchen.
The kitchen, dining area, living room and decks are common areas and all guests are welcome to use them. The hammock is located on the lower deck. You are welcome to use it. You can access it from an outside staircase.
There is a 52" flat screen TV in the living room that you may watch when ever you'd like. Netflix is available here. You can sit and watch a movie by the fire or read a book.
Washer/Dryer and an ironing board are available if needed.
Interaction with guests
This is my home. I have been a year round resident of South Lake Tahoe for 47 years. I teach English as a Second Language at Lake Tahoe Community College. I enjoy having guests who appreciate the natural beauty of our surroundings. I'm usually out and about, but if you are interested and if time permits, it will be my pleasure to go for a walk or a hike with you.
I will be happy to recommend some great nearby restaurants.

I have been a Tahoe resident for over forty years. I enjoy the easy going, outdoor lifestyle that the Sierras offer. I enjoy sharing the esteemed hiking trails, best swimming spots at the lake, secret ski stashes, and local lore / history with my guests. I have had the opportunity to travel and visit much of our world. Lake Tahoe is without doubt one of the most magnificent places in it. Come! Be my guest and see for yourself!
