I stayed in the Stylish Pvt Rm. The Room does look exactly as you see online. The Place is very well kept- neat and tidy. Excellect Location - in terms of transportation and restaurants to Eat. The place is Jethwa's place of residence and they have taken great care to maintain the property and expect the same from the guest. Excellect Host.
The whole experience was really great. I was in touch with Biren before moving to the place. Although I did not meet Biren, his mother Gita was at the house to welcome me. She helped me settle in and also guided me to get around New York and places to eat for vegetarian. I also meet Malhar and wife Christine - who were extremely warm and friendly and also gave useful tips to help me relocate to NY( in terms of shopping for furniture etc and places to eat)
I stayed for two weeks and really loved the place, very convenient in terms of transportation, many places to eat etc and lovely family who are always ready to help and guide through NY.
good orientation. excellent clean space. easy access, convenient to Subway. Thanks
We stayed at Biren's place for four nights in December. It was our first experience with AirBnB and we would definitly recommend staying at Gita's and Biren's place to friends and familiy. We liked NY very much and are planning to come back to visit in a few months again - probably in summer time. Then we will definitily get in touch with Biren again for a place to stay.
Even before arriving at Queens/ NY Biren always responded to our e-mails very quickly and answered all our questions (and we had a lot :), because we were new on AirBnB).
Besides Biren we also had the honor of meeting his mother Gita. Both of them were so nice to us and treated us really excellent. We felt welcome even before entering the place. Biren already welcomed us outside where he was waiting for us to arrive.
Throughout our stay Gita and Biren have also been there for us, if we had any questions or needed andything.
Furthermore they provided to us a metro map where they already marked places to see in NY starting from the typicall tourist spots (e.g. Times Square) up to some insights (e.g. best view of Manhattan from Brooklyn or place to go shopping).
The place itself looks execatly like shown on the pictures. It is very new and stylish. Furthermore Gita and Biren also keep it very clean so we really felt comfortable.
The appartment is located near the metro Jackson Heights (walking distance 5 - 10 min). Several metro trains leave from there so it is very easy to go to Manhattan or the airport(s) at any time.
The neighborhood itself (Jackson Heights in Queens) is an upcoming and growing neighborhood. It is safe, also at night we never felt unsecure walking home from the metro.
Furthermore near to Biren's place there are several restaurants located where you can get breakfast or lunch/ dinner for reasonable prices compared to downtown Manhattan. We enjoyed also exploring Queens, mainly for breakfast and dinner, because you will find cuisine from all over the world there (e.g. Italian, Thai, Indian...).
Staying at Biren's place made our first time in New York a great experience. The house was very clean, and my wife loved house. Biren and his mother were very welcoming, and he provided us with a detailed map where he noted all the main places we could visit. He even provided us with two subway tickets so that we didn't have to spend an extra dollar purchasing a new ticket. The place is very close to a major subway station, so you can pretty much go anywhere without walking too much.
When I just made the reservation for this place, I picked the wrong dates. I made the reservation kind of last minute, so the policy said I couldn't get a refund. But Biren offered to talk to customer service for me. I thought that was very considerable of him. In the end, though, I decided to stick with my reservation and I'm really glad I did!
If you are visiting New York and you are concern about staying in a affordable and nice place, I suggest you to go to Biren's, he is a very nice guy and very welcoming. His place is very nice and neat, just as in the pictures and very comfortable. The neighborhood is nice and safe with just a few blocks away from a metro station.
Biren also supplies you with a very detailed map about places to visit and also with a list of things to do according to the season so if is your first time visiting New York this is very useful to get the best of the big apple. We had a great time and for sure we will go back to Biren's for our next visit to New York.
Gabriele e Benedetta
Biren's place is really amazing. I was overwhelmed by the great sense of hospitality and generosity of him and his mother. Upon arrival he provided me with a map of NY and on a pouring day they (unsolicitated) carried me out an umbrella and some keepsakes the day i left.
The spot is exactly how it's described. It's clean, quiet and everything a guest needs is considered. It almost resembles a hotel.
The spot looks somewhat remote on the map (from a Manhattan view) but has some express subway services bringing you in approx 15- 20 minutes on spot.
Great value and absolutely worth the stay.
