Longer stays also welcome.
Large kitchen and bathroom in main house.
Craftsman style country home on a sunny half acre just South of Santa Cruz. The property is a ten minute drive from beaches and excellent small restaurants. We are designed for indoor outdoor living. Located 60 min from Silicon Valley and 90 min South of San Francisco in a country setting, we are a beautiful 40 min drive North of Monterey Bay Aquarium. Take a day trip to Big Sur. Or hike in the nearby Redwoods. Or grab a bike and tour the local wineries and apple orchards just minutes from the house. Santa Cruz has a vibrant music and dance scene, a Boardwalk. Sailing, surfing, kayaking (or I can give you a rowing lesson). Access to a car and transportation from the airport open for discussion... Bedroom and guest cottage are both perfect for a couple. A larger group can book the main house -- up to three couples. Kids and pets welcome -- no indoor smoking please.
Optional Amenity (Inquire Ahead) Wood-Heated Hot Tub: May be available depending on drought and other restrictions.
Cottage guests access the bathroom and kitchen through the back door. The bathroom in the main house is shared between the cottage guests and the small bedroom.
Guests who need ready bathroom access will be more comfortable in the small bedroom as it adjoins the bathroom.
Interaction with Guests
I work multiple jobs and, while I love people and enjoy AirBandB guests, the reality is that I am often gone from home. We have dogs and cats.
The main bus route is 2 miles from the house.
Other Things to Note
I do not mind late arrivals.
We love animals and have both cats and dogs.
Our animals are not allowed in the guest rooms because many guests have allergies. People who ar super allergic won't be comfortable. But we have many guests with mild allergies who do just fine.
Let us know ahead of time if you plan to bring an animal. We have cats and dogs.
Cabin: cute, cozy, compact, comfortable. Christine: charming, convivial, good coffee.
Christine was very welcoming and her space was calm and relaxing. It's a perfect place to get away for a few days. The area is out of the way a bit, but is definitely worth the drive. If I get the chance again I will stay again!
Had a great time at Christine's! She was very accommodating with our late night arrival times and was kinda enough to turn the heater on for us when she knew we were going to be getting in late! Would definitely stay there again!
Christine was very responsive and always made us feel right at home. She offered suggestions on things to do throughout our stay. The cottage was very cute.
Christine was a lovely host, with fresh morning coffee and engaging conversation. I felt completely welcome in her house in a very personal way.
Budi was a sweet host! And the room was good with easy access to all that you need, like restaurants, pubs, laundry machines etc.

About the Host, Christine
I am an over employed PA in love with the country life. The property is a rambling half acre of flowers, vegetable gardens an fruit trees in the hilly setting of South Santa Cruz County. Large sunny decks flank the main house and invite guests outside to enjoy morning coffee and the New York Times.
The house has a small downstairs bedroom with private bath. There is also a much larger private suite of rooms upstairs (that is not listed). The guest cottage is under the trees at the bottom of the rose garden. It has a small kitchenette and shares the downstairs bathroom in the main house. Both the bedroom and the cottage have queen sized futons. The cottage sleeping loft is a short ladder climb up. Either space would be perfect for a couple. We can accommodate up to three couples, with children. Well behaved dogs are also welcome and guests are encouraged to cook in the main house in the French country-style kitchen with oak floors and an antique gas stove .
The outdoor spaces offer benches and tables to sit, read and even eat out doors. And the wood fired hot tub is quite popular. I especially love soaking under the stars....
