Staying at the Butterfly Inn was great. A quiet house, with everything you need and close to central. Also Mei Lin and her family are very nice.
I had a quiet and private stay, free of glitches or hassles. The room and amenities were clean and pleasant. The location is great, very private but also close to old Palo Alto and downtown. The host and hostess were kind and considerate.
Mei Lin and Ross are gracious hosts, helpful in every way. Our room was comfortable, quiet and beautiful.. a welcome daily retreat. The overall home is lovely, as is the surrounding neighborhood with easy access to downtown Palo Alto and Stanford University. We highly recommend this airbnb spot and know you will feel as at peace as we did!
Mei Lin's Butterfly Inn was a perfect place to stay while visiting Palo Alto. The facilities were new, there were clean towels on the bed, and the location is central. Strongly recommend anyone planning on visiting the area to stay there. Thanks Mei Lin and Ross!
The Butterfly Inn was perfect. Mei was a great host and very easy to work with. The room was extremely clean, private and nicely decorated. I look forward to staying here again soon.
I highly recommend Mei Lin's Butterfly Inn. The room and amenities were outstanding and it is very convenient to the Caltrain and shops in downtown Palo Alto. Recommended.
Mei was an excellent host: communicative, connective, respectful, and helpful. She had two other guests while I was there, who I also enjoyed interacting with. The place is in the basement, which has a separate entrance.

About the Host, Mei Lin
I have lived and worked in Asia, Europe, Australia. We are alumni of MIT, Stanford and Australian National University, and affiliated with the National University of Singapore. My husband Ross and I regularly travel to Asia and Australasia, and appreciate the joy of travel, and understand the needs of travelers - so we make your stay as enjoyable and trouble-free as possible.
We extend an especially warm welcome to international visiting scholars, interns and the families of Stanford University students, faculty and staff. Our well-equipped kitchen is ready for joyful meals, and on special occasions we get together with our guests and have a potluck dinner.
Music is a big part of our lives, and our living room is our music room hosting a collection of musical instruments from around the world. Mei Lin likes classical music and plays the piano, Ross like Jazz, and plays the clarinet.
We enjoy walking, biking, swimming, cross country skiing and gardening.
As hosts we are "no fuss" and want you to feel like you are visiting friends who don't mind if you come and go at any time, We are also good for tips on the area - what to see, where to eat. And we're happy to have a conversation with if you feel like it, or just as happy to let you come and go as you please.
